I think this is an apsolute must buy item for the wii. If you have the internet, it enables you to download all the latest updates for your console for free, access news and weather channels and play games against others via the internet. A must buy. A+.

If you are still not sure weather to connect the internet to your wii system then i strongly recommend you doing so. This little gadget turns your internet cable into a usb cable which is then plugged straight into the wii its that simple. i had the internet running on my wii after about 5 mins you even get a free cable with this product. This makes allows you to make the most of your wii console

This is a great little device.
All you have to do is plug the ethernet cable into your router, then into the adopter and the adopter, through USB, into the wii and away you go.
I think mario kart is a great game online.
If you have a wii and a router you really should get this.

Coxy 909, i don't see why it wont work straight from the modem.
To be honest im really not impressed that the wii didn't come with wired net capability, how hard is it to put the right socket in the back? We don't have wireless as its so insecure and i don't apreciate being penalized for it. It means now that i can't get on the net with it, which is the one thing i was looking forward to, next time nintendo, spend a few extra quid and put the socket in the machine and don't make us pay a ridicules price for it.

  Works a treat

Very good item that works without issues and it is a breeze to install, just plug it in and tell the Wii you want a wired connection.

Mine came with a missing lens over the LEDs, not really a problem i guess but the LEDs are very bright and you can see them flashing even though the unit is shoved behind the telly.

I never had a problem with wireless i have to be honest but as the router now sits next to the PS3 and Wii i thought i might as well take advantage of the more stable connection.

  Other Option

I don't doubt this is a quality product, but as a tip to save money, i'd suggest getting in touch with your broadbrand provider and asking for a wireless router (most should provide for free, especially if you're a long serving customer)

Then as the Wii has built in wireless you're away, might not work if you live in a massive house though...or with lead walls.

  Why go for official gear?

I wasn't quite sure about buying the Datel adapter as it wasn't an official 'Wii' product, but seeing as the other had sold out, and this one was becoming hard to get hold of, I thought i'd take the plunge. It's small, and dead easy to get it working, just plug in to the back of your Wii console (USB port), and attach your internet conection, the Wii guides you through a simple process.
A little tip: register online with Nintendo first, so you can link your email address after, on your console.
I totally recommend this to anyone!

I was worried i'd never be able to go online as i don't have a PC or a wireless connection, plus i'm an idiot with IT and it was so simple to do and now i can enjoy Mario kart online.

Highly recommended

  Must buy!!!!

So easy, just plug in to the wii, plug into your router (altho a little adjustment may be required in the router settings) and within minutes access to the channels.
The only hassle was that the cable was a bit short, but overcome with a longer cable. Its not that hard. If you want to go wireless this is NOT the product to buy.
Recommended for anybody who wants to hardwire the wii to the WFC. Go and buy and have fun!!!!!
