I really looked forward to playing this on the Wii, started in the standing mode which led to 3 weeks of sheer frustration, the slightest variation with the controller causes wild hooks all over the place!! I just could not get it so I decided to try the sitting mode, much better control but the putting and short game strokes still seem to have a mind of their own sometimes, but I am now getting the hang of things. I was hoping for something really different from previous Tiger Woods but the format is still more or less the same, graphics are not very good and the courses seem a little dull? ( whatever happened to the jungle course and that mad highlands course ??) reality is one thing but a little fun does not go amiss !!
All in all more or less the same as the past games ,buy it by all means but don't expect anything exciting..can't they move forward like other games have ??????
i have been buying tiger for many years now....for the pc...for the playstation.....psp.....enjoying them all, then i thought, wouldn't it be great on a wii.....as you might actually feel like your playing......here lies the problem....it tries too hard to compute the swing and fails terribly....yep you can resort to other options like sit-down mode-rubbish etc but if you want a sim that tries this hard to be real and takes just as long to play then leave your virtual world behind and get out and play for real...its more fun
When i first got my wii, this was the game i was most looking forward to buying. When i first played it, i found it difficylt however it gave me the incentive to keep playing. After getting used to the game i started to enjoy it. However, on occasions when i swing back it would take my shot and hit it at 40% power. I thoughtit was my swing for that shot so thought no more of it. However it became more perisitant and really irrateted me. Other people who i know who have played the game have had the same problem. So i am getting rid which is a shame because the actual game play is fantastic. The fed ex cup etc is brilliant but the "glich" (as i like to call it) has put a downer on what could be the best game ever.
In conclusion, i do recommend the game and hope that the same issues dont happen to you as they did with me.
After playing TW07 which was mastered pretty easily, i thought TW08 would be a bit better which in all fairness is. There's load of new games (fed-ex cup and the expanded tiger chalenge) which are good. But on the downside the controll seem less responsive, for instance chipping is difficult and using a full swing it sometimes plays up (hitting at 50%).
Other than that the game is definately worth buying and i'm personnally going to percivere with it, just to stop my other half play Harry Potter!
