Fantastic game. There is loads to do considering you are on a desert island! For fans of the sims this is a must have game as it is a similar concept but different to the pc game as you are stranded on an island. Highly recommended!

Sims 2 Castaway is good game for chilling out and relaxing.

I have Sims 2 on the DS where you ran your own hotel which I really enjoyed playing and now I am enjoying Sims 2 Castaway just as much. When you first start Castaway you are lost on a tropical island all alone on a beach and you have to find materials to make a work bench so that you can build a hut for yourself. You also need to make a fire to keep yourself warm at night and more importantly for cooking your food such as fish which you catch using a spear. As you progress through the game you will come across other sims and be able to explore this most exotic island where there are many secrets. The Wii controls feel very natural and easy to use as you guide your sim around the island using your Nunchuk control stick. The graphics are pretty good and there are many fun things to do like playing music. As your skill levels go up you are able to build better stuff and do more things. Overall I would say Sims 2 Castaway is one the best Sim games yet and is differently worth checking out if you like this type of game.

I got this game for my partner and well she loves it, it passes the time well. I cant say I like it personally but hey not me playing it. The more time a person spends playing the easier the game becomes and the better it becomes also.

Best I've played on Wii so far.

This is by far the best i've played on the wii for several reasons. The graphics are amazing, the game makes good use of the wiimote and nunchuck and the controls can be mastered in ten minutes. There is plenty to explore, build and do, befriending the island chimps is fun. The game does get repetitive and you spend a lot of time purely maintaining yourself much like usual Sims. If you love cute but not childlike games go for this. Not too taxing on the brain and i didn't get frustrated once which is unusual. Short game though - completed in about five evenings.

  Okay

I find this game quite good, but maybe not the best from The sims creators.
As said, the game does get a little repetitive if you can't find another island.
It can get difficult at times, but I guess that's the joys of a game, right?

  Sims??

I love The Sims series but this game i just cant get into i spent quite some time looking around but thats all I seem to do, I must point out it does look nice and it will be good when it gets going but its just not like the other games where you are thrown into areas where you have so much to do. This takes time.

Good game, gets a bit boring...

This game is fun to play at first, but after a while it gets a bit repetitive; eat, build, sleep. A good game for small periods of gaming, but not really suitable to play for longer periods of time because it gets boring.

  Brill game!!!! BUY it

i love the sims, i feel in love with this game but i complted it within 5 days and was so sad - it would have been 5 stars if it was a little longer - but there is so much to do and build it will keep you occupied for even longer. Extremally good game

Just The Sims But With A Twist

In short this is really a good game however don't make the same mistake with it that I did...
At the start (as with any sim) you prepare your charactor. I only made the one... this was my mistake I hadn't realised that if you only make one sim then only one sim will be marooned on the island... this can make for quite a frustrating gaming experience because the social meter can be difficult to keep up at a green level and if it dips to red it's very difficult and time consuming to get it back up there. So heed this warning... make more than one sim!
With that being said though this is still a very good game. The usual sims stuff is there including the meters for hunger, hygiene, comfort etc, cooking your own meals (difference is here you need to catch it or find it first!), designing your house (in this case initially just building a bed and later learning to make a little bamboo shelter which gets more extravagent as the game progresses).
Exploring the island is fun and it really looks the part and the usual sims humour is very much alive in this game.
The reason I only gave it three stars is because it's just the same old sims slightly rehashed which is fine if you like the sims but it would be nice to see some something unique (like the changes between The Sims and The Sims 2 on the PC).
Don't misunderstand me this game is great fun and I highly recommend it if you like The Sims but just don't expect anything new because it's really just like the rest but on an island.
