Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock continues to build on Guitar Hero's successful easy to play, but difficult to master gameplay mechanic to take the franchise to a whole new level. With master tracks from legendary bands like Sex Pistols, Guns N' Roses, Rolling Stones, Metallica, and Pearl Jam, along with original music composed specifically for the game by iconic guitarists Slash and Tom Morello, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock sports the greatest soundtrack to ever find its way into a videogame. Vastly improved graphics immerse gamers into their rock arenas and heighten their visual experience while the new wireless Gibson guitar controllers allow the players to channel their inner guitar gods. The arcade-inspired Battle Mode, expanded Co-Op Career and Boss Battles add depth and extend gameplay for countless hours of shred time.

Featuring over 70% master recordings, spanning over 40 years of music across many rock genres, Guitar Hero fans have the opportunity to shred to one of the greatest compilations of music ever. Adding to the track list are some of the most legendary European anthems with a vast array of downloadable content post-launch. From Metallica to Muse and Rolling Stones to Rage Against the Machine, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock offers up a truly legendary set list.

Multiple tracks that can only be found in the game include guitar icons Slash and Tom Morello contributing original guitar riffs for their boss battles. Also, the Sex Pistols re-entered the studio for the first time in 30 years to re-record "Anarchy in the U.K." providing Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock an original recording not available anywhere else. Additionally, Living Colour re-recorded their Grammy Award winning "Cult of Personality" adding a solo that left legendary guitarist Vernon Reid grunting.

Includes Les Paul Guitar Hero Controller

Now that's a Guitar! The Wii Gibson Les Paul guitar controller has a void in the guitar for the Wii Remote to snap into and connects to the Wii Remote via the Nunchuk port. By using the Wii Remote, the guitar controller utilises the wireless technology and accelerometer. Adapting the Wii Remote's technology, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock uses both the rumble feature and the speaker on the Wii Remote. The rumble can be felt shaking the guitar when rocking out with Star Power. The speaker comes in handy when playing multiplayer as "clinks" are heard through the Wii Remote as opposed to the TV speakers.

Guitar Hero III contains over 70 songs, including...

    • Beastie Boys - Sabotage
    • Muse - Knights Of Cydonia
    • Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
    • Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock
    • Tenacious D - The Metal

    • Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
    • Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast
    • Red Hot Chili Peppers - Suck My Kiss
    • AFI - Miss Murder
    • Queens Of The Stone Age - 3's And 7's
    • Slayer - Raining Blood
    • The Strokes - Reptillia
    • Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby

     Guitar Hero 3 -WII

Anyone who buys this game is going to want decent sound, maybe I'm wrong but 'Legends of Rock' means great guitar riffs and a thumping beat. Well this offering produces the sound in mono, yes that's right, mono. It's 2007 and everything is Dolby Pro Logic - apart from the one game that you would expect. It's a great game but wait until Activision sort this mess out - you have been warned!

     Awesome, Just, Awesome

A great game that you can play for days on end and never get bored, or stop playing, go back to it, and love it wondering why you stopped.

It has numerous songs all of which get challenging in different ways as your progress through the difficulties (the difficulty levels becoming really elite this time around, hard is harder than GH 2 Expert).

The one problem that i can find with the wii is that if your trying to play it and be quiet there is no way of turning the sound on the wii remote down, on other platforms the sound is out of the TV or stereo speakers which ruins normal gameplay but allows it to be played silently. But that said against the wii controller the precision and looks of the wiis controller surpass PS3 and XBOX360 quite easily.

All in all it is still a great game and i'd recommend every play this instead of bothering with Rock Band...

(P.S. Another good thing about GH3 for the Wii, those skilled enough can use the Wii Remotes as a guitar and not need to buy additional guitars!)

Rocking, but not all over the world.

Guitar hero has written itself in to game folklore over the years, and for the first time on a Nintendo console wii owners can rock out.

First off, the guitar is superb, the best of the 3 next gen consoles.

The song selection for the most is pretty good, but some seem out of place, but I love my metal so things Like 'Ruby' I could do without!

If you are new to guitar hero, you are a bit out of luck as this is the hardest version yet, even on medium, sone songs throw chords at you at such a random and rapid pace that they feel more like a hard setting.(See: Raining Blood and Dragonforce!)

Also, the Wii version for some bizzare reason is recorded in mono, meaning alot of the sound is actually very poor, and as Nintendo are behind in the online world, at the moment you will only have the songs that are on the disc.

Overall, if you have never played before and don't have a PS3 or 360, grab the game and have some fun, if you have a guitar on other versions, then I would avoid the wii version

     Not bad but...

You know I didn't even realise the game was MONO only... beats me, I am sure in the setup you have Stereo, might be wrong.

The song list is what buggs me also, I have a memory card of 4GB in my Wii which is not used at all... all saves are on the Wii itself, so I would have plenty of pscae fro new songs.

There are so many songs that could have made it on this version but... we'll have to do with what we got. It is my first guitar hero and as I don't own an Xbox or a PS3 I will have to live with this, I really wouldn't bother playing it on my PC.

I was going to give it a 5 Star... that's how much I loved it but after reading the other reviews and the fact that the other consoles have better deals... well I decided to drop 2 stars. MONO sound?? no downloadable content...
