Allowing fans to interact with the movie's characters for the first time on any gaming console, High School Musical: Sing It! extends the High School Musical experience by offering players the chance to immerse themselves in the world of the hit movie. Fans show off their creativity and skills by mixing together their favourite characters, songs and scenes as they sing their way to stardom. Featuring motion-captured choreography from the original movie's dance routines, the games provide hours of fun for the entire family as they get to interact with some of their favourite movie stars.

Featuring three play modes - Story, Party and Quickplay - fans choose their favourite cast member - Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad or Taylor - as their in-game character. In Story Mode, players live the movie through song and dance, performing 'High School Musical' and 'High School Musical 2' songs, from 'Start Of Something New' to 'We're All In This Together,' solo or as a duet. In Party Mode, friends compete against each other. Players can also choose their favourite backdrop and belt out hit songs from other popular tunes sung by familiar Disney Channel stars. In Quickplay mode, players can jump into any song and pick from any characters, outfits, and environments they've unlocked. For the fans a little shy about singing, or waiting their turn, pick up the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, and move them to the beat to accompany the singers with percussion instruments like a snare drum, tambourine, cowbell and more!

Includes microphone

  • Sing and dance to all the songs from 'High School Musical,' 'High School Musical 2' and other popular tracks by familiar Disney Channel stars
  • Choose favorite scenes from the original 'High School Musical' movie
  • Includes motion-captured choreography from the original movie
  • Perform in either duet or solo mode
  • Choose from Story, Party or Quickplay Mode

I'll get it out of the way now...this is a great game for HSM fans, and I wholeheartedly recommend it (if you can find it anywhere!).

If I could have given 4.5 stars, I would have done. But oh well...more about the game, for those who are interested...

Rather than go for super-realistic graphics, the developers have gone for a nice cel-shaded look. All the characters are instantly recognisable, but with a very unique look. Lots of bright colours, and dance moves replicated very well from the movies. The in-game menus are very slick and easy to navigate too.

Speaking of characters, as well as the main six characters (Troy, Sharpay et al), there is a decent selection of unlockable characters, including Zeke, Kelsi and...er...Ms Darbus(!).

There's plenty of unlockable songs too. The game starts with just the HSM1 soundtrack, but by getting good grades in songs, you can unlock the HSM2 songs, as well as a load of extras from the Cheetah Girls, Aly & AJ and other similar acts.

There's also a lot of unlockable arenas and new outfits for the characters. It will take a good while to totally complete the game.

The only real drawback of the Wii edition is that PS2 gamers get two microphones with their version, while this only comes with one...and for a higher RRP. This means that friends or siblings will have to buy a copy of the game each to play together, and pretty much puts a dampner on the idea of party play.

But still...for HSM fans, this is a must have. The songs, although cover versions, are excellently done and are all a lot of fun to sing (all lyrics are included the manual). A small variety of extras also comes on the disc, including a Zac Efron interview and a few other bits and bobs, and all the unlockables should keep wannabe Troys and Gabriellas playing for ages.

Overall, a HSM fan's dream package. I deducted a bit for the lack of a second mic, but consider it a five-star game otherwise!

     High school flop

First let me sy i love musicals, and secondly i enjoyed all 3 hsm films. I also ama huge fan of the singstar series on the ps2/3

So i was really excited, as was my wife when we found out this game was coming out for release (we bought it s soon as it came out)

This game is terrible, i don't know what game the other reviews were playing but it ouldn't be this... Heres why:

    Firstly
The singers on this game are not the actors from the films, they are just nobodys singing the songs.

    Secondly
The whole point of the singstar series was to re-create the song. (I used to love doing the duets with my wife) but in this game both people sing random lines, and sometimes player 1 will sing the first part of a line and player 2 finishes it.

That is not how duets are sung

    Thirdly
The echo... When you sing along your voice comes through the tv. Okay it does too in singstar, but in singstar it comes through in realtime. In this it comes with a slight delay which really puts you off.

    Fourthly
The animation is awful, truly dreadful.

    All is not lost
The makers of this game have learned their lessons (or some at least) and have fixed the duet problem (problem 2) for the sequel so if i were you i would get that one as chances are if they have fixed some issues they may have solved them all.

A horrible game which will is only good enough for little kids who are tone deaf.... If you enjoy singstar... Steer clear of this

I loved this game as you were able to unlock more characters and songs. You can change the clothes and the setting for each song. At first a bit dull untill you unlock all the songs.
