  Absolute waste of money

| | See all shoegirl2018's reviews (1)

Doesn't do what it says on the tin. From what I have uncovered after purchase is that modern wii will not accept this disc and anyone who buys it has wasted their money. Disc will not not load and just simply getting an error message. Might possibly be a good idea if this was in the description so that people were aware that this is a possibility. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

used to be a good thing

don't buy this
like the other reviews, this does not work anymore but i did find a small problem:
if it was american the game rins in 60hz which doesn't work on some tv's
i only got this game for smash bros, but when i moved to the uk version of the game, the save does not work you have to start a new game.
i am now planning to sell my american version of the game as it is now useless

  Wii - Naruto Shippuden Ex2

If you use your wii online unfortunatley you may not be able to use this as the firmware updates to higher than 3.2 which makes this freeloader useless, lucky for me i dont go online with it, just use ma xbox lol,

But yes if you dont use the online play get this and naruto shippuden ex2, you wont be dissapointed!!!

  A once great product

The freeloader is a great idea, but unfortunately Nintendo have decided that importing games shouldn't be done and their new update has made it impossible to use the freeloader anymore. This of course leaves people who have purchased several overseas games screwed. I urge you- DO NOT BUY THIS. IT WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE

Good but will not work any more!

Since the Wii software updated to 3.3E freeLoader is now blocked. Stiil works fine if you never updated your Wii but if you buy a new Nintendo game in the coming months then you will have to update before you could play it.

  Does the job, perfect

| | See all bobyouronthegame's reviews (1)

Tried it with Wii Fit and it works perfectly. If you switch off the console you need to use the freeloader disc again before you play the game. I have firmware version 3.1

Bit of trial & error sometimes but does the job

Since the forums & youtube have been flooded with different methods, i will explain how i got mine to work.

[Wii Latest Version 3.2e - TV MUST SUPPORT 60hz (480i/p)]

Boot Method 1 - Insert freeloader disc, eject & insert import game

Boot Method 2 - Insert freeloader disc, eject, reinsert freeloader, eject & then insert import game

[Troubleshooting]

Red screen - Only happens if using a RGB Cable, revert to NON-RGB slot in tv or you use either component or composite cable

Black screen - Revert to alternate boot method

Black & White screen - TV doesnt support NTSC signals

[Games tested]

Manhunt 2 (USA)

Boot method 1 - Red screen if using RGB Cable, perfect using Component or Standard Composite / Scart.

Boot method 2 - Works perfectly with all cables

Smash Bros Brawl (USA)

Boot method 1 - Red screen if using RGB Cable, perfect using Component or Standard Composite / Scart

Boot method 2 - Black Screen, though audio can be heard

All in all a great product that plays pretty much every NTSC Wii game there is & a few NTSC gamecube games too. Highly recommended for the impatient like me.

  Works like a charm

I just got this and tried it out with Brawl. I had some trouble first but as I updated my Wii software to E3.2 (had E3.0). Now it works as it should. (I had to put the FreeLoader in twice and do the update from the Brawl disc. After the update it seems to be enough that you put the FreeLoader in once.)

At the moment I'm very happy; especially because the Super Smash Bros. Brawl hasn't come out in Europe (and I don't know when it will) and because the games from Japan and Canada are a lot cheaper!

  No Fuss, Works Perfectly

I was a little nervous when I first ordered Wii Freeloader incase it didn't work or it was too much hassle to use everytime I played imported games, but thankfully it works fine and is very quick.

The freeloader just requires you to put it in your console for about 10-15 seconds, then you can just take it out and play any imported game you want!
Note for games with updates, like Brawl, you'll need to insert it twice.

I know it might be a bit obvious, but make sure you have your Wii set to 60hz to play the games. I never thought of it when I couldn't get my game to play at first...
