For generations, stories have been told of the fearsome weapon of the Norse god Thor. Legend holds that he who wields the hammer has the power to smash mountains into valleys and the strength to destroy even the gods. For more than a thousand years it has existed only as a myth... until now.

In an ancient ruin on the floor of the Mediterranean Sea, Lara Croft uncovers proof of the Norse underworld and the mythical hammer. As she attempts to unravel the secrets behind these myths, Lara's perilous journey leads her toward a forgotten power that, if unleashed, could lay waste to all civilisation.
  • Reach new heights with the broadest range of acrobatic abilities and utilize objects within the environment to uncover new paths to explore
  • Discover ancient mysteries of the underworld hidden within the coast of Thailand, frozen islands of the Arctic Sea, the jungles of Mexico, and more
  • Each level is an elaborate multi-stage puzzle masked within an interactive environmental playground offering more flexibility over how the area is solved
  • The combat system has been enhanced for more fluid character control and more precise aiming with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk
  • Take more control of the camera using the Wii Remote - if the Wii Remote is not pointed at the screen, the camera will follow Lara automatically, whereas if it is pointed at the screen, the game will enter a "free look" mode

Lara's upgraded inventory includes:

  • Multi-purpose grapple: A claw-like device with a high-tension cable designed for climbing, grappling, performing wall runs and manipulating objects within the environment
  • All-terrain motorbike: Built to handle everything from the jungles of Mexico to the icy glaciers of the Arctic
  • Multi-tool (Wii exclusive): Excavate hidden secrets with this modernised and expanded tool kit that includes:
  • Air compressor: A high-powered instrument used to clear away dirt or silt
  • Acetylene torch: An advanced, multipurpose torch used to weld metal objects, set fire to objects, and melt ice
  • Chisel: Pry apart objects or chip away sediment in order to discover hidden secrets
  • Pliers: Pull away items that are blocking levers

 AWFUL!!!!

This is an abridged version of the game and takes even less time to complete in comparison to the ps3 and xbox 360 versions.
More time has been spent on making it look pretty rather than making worthwhile gameplay.
Enemies have been removed, including bats, which were present in anniversary, the camera is the worst it has ever been and half of the functions have been taken out - there is no adrenaline combat, no underwater combat, no bats, practically no enemies in the mexico area, no spiders, no medipacks and a lack of gymnastic moves to enjoy, not to mention less to do because the levels have been chopped down to nothing!
Absolutely no replay value whatsoever.
Painfully obvious that the developer has been lazy on the wii version with copied sprites and terrible pick-ups.
There is a 50% chance of encountering a bug in the first quarter of the game that will force you to replay the game to try to correct it - if you have the game, you urgently need to patch it, go to the eidos website to download it.
Anniversary was brilliant on the wii, if you want a tomb raider on the wii, buy anniversary but if you have it, don't buy underworld on the wii - it's so terrible it deserves a no-star review!

 If you loved anniversary..

..prepare to be heartbroken.

This game takes the brilliant controls of anniversary and messes them up to the extent you just ask "why?"

It takes the graphics and actually manages to down-grade them "How?"

It takes all your hopes and dashes them; I am not against this game because I am rubbish at Tomb Raider either, it just really is a terrible, terrible game.

If you dont have a TR on wii get the anniversary, if you have anniversary don't give this pap a second thought!

Goodnight, muchlove.

 Best game ever

This game is amazing....wow...what fun...............shooting, puzzlers, action and graphics. You feel with the improvised game play that you are Lara. What an amazing adventure........Well done Eidos, you truly delivered.
