Wii Sports Resort takes the inclusive fun and intuitive controls of the original Wii Sports to the next level, introducing a whole new set of entertaining and physically immersive activities. With the deep control enhancements of Wii MotionPlus, veteran Wii users and newcomers alike can enjoy unprecedented gaming precision as they cruise on a water scooter, duel with swords, toss flying discs and much more.

Wii MotionPlus: The activities use the precision controls of the Wii MotionPlus accessory to help players come much closer to the physical reality of engaging in the actual sports. Every real-world action, whether it's a perfect drive on the fairway or a slice off the course, is meant to be faithfully replicated.

Challenges: Each activity has multiple fun challenges designed to keep visitors coming back for more.

Innovative Controls: Different activities use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers in different ways. For example, players hold the Wii Remote like a paddle in Canoeing, while in Cycling they use both arms to "pedal" with the two controllers. The Wii MotionPlus accessory picks up every nuance of motion and translates it onto the TV screen.

Multiplayer Fun: Depending on the activity, players can compete solo or against other players. Some activities even let players team up to work cooperatively.

GREAT PARTY GAME! Think Mario&Sonic Olympics but way better!

I got this game on the first day of release and was literally on it all day - I hadn't done that since Mario Kart Wii came out! What makes this so different from the first Wii Sports is that it actually takes a while to master some of the games (mainly frisbee and golf) which makes it more interesting and actually involves some kind of learning curve.
Because of the Wii Motion Plus, you can't get away with just swinging the remote any way you want ...you actually have to be accurate *gulp* and it just goes to show how future games like Red Steel 2 will be. It's very addictive and so much fun; especially when you've got friends round. It kind of matches Wario Smooth Grooves because its ideal for entertaining groups of mates, but it's also great fun if your alone and have some time to kill.
Some games are more fun than others - Archery, ping pong, golf and sword fighting are my favourites, whereas cycling and wakeboarding are the weakest ...but all the games are fun and I will be playing them all again!
Wii Sports Resort is a great introduction to Motion Plus and you should definitely buy this if you like Wario Smooth Grooves and Mario & Sonics at the Olympic Games! Although it doesn't have online features, it's more of a game that you play with friends in the same room as you laugh at each other when dogfighting or sword splicing. The WM+ really drains the batteries which is the only downside, but it makes an amazing difference to the gameplay! BUY IT

There are 12 different sports games to enjoy on Wii Sports Resort. The first one is Swordplay and you hold the Wii Remote in both hands as though it were a sword, with the buttons facing you. When attacking with your sword the wider you swing your Wii Remote movements, the more powerful your blow will be and if you are lucky you might hit your opponent off the edge into the water which is great fun. For defending hold your Wii Remote at a angle whilst holding the B Button to block your opponent's attack and knock them off balance.
Wakeboarding is good fun as you try to score as many points as possible by performing acrobatic jumps on the water. For Wakeboarding you hold the Wii Remote with both hands as if you were gripping the handle of a tow rope. You tilt the Wii Remote left and right which tilts your board for the steering and flick the Wii Remote for jumping over the boats wake.
Next we have Frisbee in which you can play with a dog or play Frisbee Golf which is a bit odd. For throwing the Frisbee you need to hold the Wii Remote at chest height whilst holding the B Button and swing it in an arc at the direction of your target, then release B to let the Frisbee fly.
One of my favourites sports is Archery but it is a bit tricky to master. With Archery you use your Wii Remote and Nunchuk. To shoot an arrow you hold your Wii Remote upright whilst hold the A Button. Then on your Nunchuk hold the Z or C Button and draw your Nunchuk backwards whilst taking aim and release your Nunchuk button to shoot your arrow.
I'm not so keen on the Basketball game but it is still fun especially in multiplayer. To pick up and shoot the Basketball you tilt the Wii Remote inwards and press the B Button to pick up the ball then, swing your Wii Remote over your head and give it a flick to throw your ball.
The Table Tennis game works ten time better then what it did in Wii Play and is great fun. With the Golf and the Bowling you have more control with your aiming but the improvement isn't as great because they worked good on Wii Sports.
The Power Cruising reminds me of a great game I had on the N64 called Waverace which was ace. You hold your Wii Remote and Nunchuk as if you were holding the handle bars of a bike. For me this is the best sports game in Sports Resort and Nintendo really do need to give us an update of Waverace please.
Canoeing is fun as you hold your Wii Remote with both hands and do paddling movements from left to right as you pass through checkpoints trying to beat other players.
Cycling will make your arms ache a bit. You start at last place and you must try to overtake everybody to finish the race first. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk you move them up and down alternately which is ok but for me it's one of the weaker sports to play on offer here.
I love Air Sports because the Skydiving and the flying of the plane remind me of the most excellent games I have for the SNES and N64 which is Pilotwings. For flying you hold your Wii Remote in your hand like you would a paper aeroplane. When do the Skydiving the Wii Remote represents your Mii's body!
So there you have it Wii Sports Resort really shows you what Wii Motion Plus can do and is wonderful at the same time. If you have Wii you need this game in your collection because for me it's the most fun I have had with my friends and family since Mario Kart Wii!

       OMG Brilliant!!

This is the best sports game since wii sports came out. I love the basketball, canoeing, table tennis, etc etc etc I played it solidly for a month! I really felt like I had had a gym workout !!! Cheaper than the wii fit board and definately more fun!!

       Best Wii game yet

If you enjoyed playing wii sports then you will love this.
The mii characters return which adds that extra fun factor with their customisation.
More new games are available and some old favourites too (bowling, golf).
There's no fitness test and sadly no boxing, baseball or tennis.
A nice cricket game would've been a welcome addition.

To compensate, there is sword fighting (speed slicing is great fun), wake boarding (very addictive), archery (addictive), table tennis (a great replacement for normal tennis), frisbee (including frisbee golf), basketball (fun), golf (same 9 hole course plus another 9 hole course and a bonus 3 holes - that's 21 holes), 10 pin bowling, air sports (fun), cycling (tiring but fun). Canoeing and power cruising bring up the rear and are appealing.

The game experience is far superior with the motionplus attachment and i would recommend getting the additional motionplus controller for 2 player games eg table tennis and swordplay

This is the best game on wii ever. I reckon it was a good idea of nintendo to make a game like this, it's brilliant, the graphics are excellant, the miis are like real life and the sports are just amazing. If you haven't got this game on wii, get it now, it's one of the best games ever. I would recommend it to anyone who loves wii sports and family games, it's wicked!!!!!
