Very surprised by how good this game is. As a 38 year old veteran gamer with 2 little ones, I was starting to loose hope with the quality of games for my age group on the Wii and when I saw the packaging for this game, I just thought it was another cutesy game for little ones, but when I saw a review I thought i'd give it a try ....... and am I glad I did !!!. It's basically a Strategy/Adventure/RPG game with all the best elements of each put together beautifully. Can't agrre with the previous review around length of time on the game ..... it's not so 'Little' , been playing it (when I can get the kids off the Wii !!!) for 5 hours now and from what I can make out i'm only a fraction of the way through ... i'd say there would be at least 40+ hours gameplay to complete. Highly recommended, so go out and buy it so that companies are encouraged to make decent games for the Wii.
Little King Story is the best bits of a few genres. The art design is perfect for the wii and while i expected to use the pointer if the wiimote the game certainly doesnt suffer without this. Its essentially an RTS game where you start iff in a small run down kingdom and through exploration and building new elements in your kingdom you can upgrade and explore further afield. The game is suprisingly deep and is more than the sum of its parts. There are plenty of different types of units to create and put to use throughout the game and it almost has a pikmin feel to it. You can select a team to come with you 'The royal Guard' and these can be made up of soldiers, archers, miners, woodsmen and many more. Ive played the game for about 4 hours so far and can see a further 15 hours being invested before it coming to an end (Most games on any platform these days last less than 8 hours for me). Its really worth a purchase the enchanting art direction and gameplay is a real winner in my books.
