Decent game, but don't forget Metroid

So this isn't the best FPS ever, yes it had a lot of hype and it was supposed to fill that fps 'gap' that the Wii supposedly has... Thats the point I want to make, this game was a little dissapointing but there is at least one other game that has already been out for a little while which blows most other FPS (even on next gen consoles) out of the water, for sheer quality of gameplay and attention to detail.

I am of course reffering to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

I am a hardcore fps fan, having run CS and CSS clans, been members of TF and DOD clans and played through: original doom through quake 4 and all the half life games + expansions and UT through to UT2k4 and BF1942 through BF2, ET:Quake Wars, Crysis, basically if there is a decent FPS out there I've played it through.

The point being, I know The Conduit isn't the best FPS out there, but it's still decent, the graphics aren't as good as they could be (see Metroid Prime 3) but they are decent and the multiplayer is a hell of a lot of fun even if the single player is slightly lacking. That all being said, the Wii is not hopeless for hardcore gamers, you want some really decent FPS-style gaming on the Wii? See Metroid Prime 3.

 Very good, Metroid Good

I now understand why people said this is as good as Metroid prime Corruption, because I believe it is as good. The single player is definitely not as good as Metroid, but ok at times graphics, great enemies, and kick ass guns. The storyline is fairly easy to follow, but sometimes lags. A really great feature, as people have said, is the ability to customize controls, and even player HUB. You can have things your way.

Multi-player is great, and makes up for a small-ish single player, I love the team death matches, although connections range and you can get good and bad connection, it does work, most of the time.
One of the best wii shooters! 9/10

 Multi player Magic!!!!!

The campaign mode on this game is very good and probably on par with Metroid Prime 3. Excellent graphics for the wii and makes the most of the controls. Where this game excels is the online multiplayer mode. I can hardly stop playing this game online and have had no lag problems what so ever which leads to a fast and frantic online experience. Only downside is lack of online levels and playing rule options, but, probably as close to classic Goldeneye multi player you can get at the moment!!!

 A Must Own

The Conduit is not revolutionary. It does not push the genre. It does not do things differently. What it does do, however, is make everything better than it ever has been.

From the excellent graphics (even by Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 standards) to the sweeping score, High Voltage Software have apparently gone to every expense to draw the player into The Conduit's universe. And what a universe that is. The art direction draws largely from conspiracy theory circles, so you'll be seeing a lot of "Masonic" imagery.

The only criticism I have of the game is that the single player campaign does not do enough to draw you into the universe that has been so lovingly crafted; all the details are there, but many of them are hidden out of the player's way, meaning that a first play through can seem somewhat bland. On the subject of the campaign, it lasts about 5-7 hours. This, while not lengthy, is about the right length for the game, as it keeps it from becoming stale, as many FPS's do.

Playing the game is an absolute joy. It controls more intuitively than many of Nintendo's own efforts, and really shows what the Wii Remote can do when applied to the FPS genre. The online mode is fun, if not life-changing; multi-platform FPS gamers will probably be sticking to Half-Life 2 and its family, but for me The Conduit has more or less completely replaced Halo 3 and Killzone 2 when it comes to online console gaming.

If you own a Wii along with another console, you should seriously consider getting The Conduit. If you don't own another console, you absolutely cannot miss it.

An average 3 for a alright game

I bought this game last year for my birthday and since trhen I have been on it since christmas doing the story mode and online multiplayer, and over all its not a bad game but this was a Wii title that promised soo much but gave so little.

Gameplay is reasonable but I found some of the controls a bit to annoying, and control sensitivity was very frustrating at times. Weapons didn't seem great aswell unlike COD it has one weapon for each type, such as a USP-45 for a pistol, a MP5 for a sub machine gun, and a spas-12 for a shotgun. This shouldn't get people down but I think they should of added more weapons for each classes and they did not even include a single sniper.

Multiplayer was pretty good but the match making was unfair, the match making is based on a voting system where people vote for map, rules and weapon list to use and alot of people chose to use explosive weapons in small enviroments which spoilt the game, but when your in a normal game with normal weapons its fun, just tricky and sometimes laggy but it doesn't put you off completely.

In over a reasonable 3 stars for this game suits it, it promised alot for Wii gamers but didn't meet the standards or a proper hardcore FPS shooter, I dpnt want it exactly like COD but it could of been better then the COD titles for Wii already. Conduit 2 is out this autumn and by the looks of it we are promised alot again and it looks alot better, so hopefully we will be getting a Wii game we deserve this year. So for my final verdict it is a good game but beware of some of the annoying controls, enviroments and online play.
