1st play of the game was frustrating but i soon got the hang of it and when i did get my 1st 180 or win my 1st set it made it sweeter. the gameplay is good and the compition on single player also good. the aspects that annoy me however are the entances all the players come out to the same music so i have just skipped past this after 1 view of it. the create a player should have much more to it as only 6 or 7 hairdo's with no choice on hair colour and 9 shirt choices.sid's commentery seems to brake up on occasion and is very repetitive. hopefully this can be fixed for the next edition. reviewer - 26, male
Im a big fan of real darts and now that I cant have a real dart board in the house, Ive been looking for a good computer darts game as a replacement, Ive found it. As this is a WII game, you have a throwing motion like a real dart so you actually do feel like you are throwing a dart. As everyone says, the max assist is brilliant as it allows you compete in games, not be hamered all the time, however, you still have to learn a bit as you wont win everything right from the start off. 180's and 140's come flying. The career mode is great, your 3 dart averages, 1 dart avergae, no of 100+, 140+ and 180's etc are stored, you also get these in each game. The walk-ins are fine once or twice but then get boring, different music would be better but there may be copyrights there. The commentry as everyone said is very repeditve and I agree, you should be able to switch it off but leave the score announcements. Oh yeah, above it says there are two commentators, only Sid in mine. The graphics are very good for the WII to and the sound in general is brilliant. Also like the different views of the borad you can have. All in all, if you like darts, this is as good as it gets
One of, if not, the best game on the Wii. Took a little while to get to grips with the controls but in no time you'll be banging in the 180's and beating the likes of Phil 'The Power' Taylor.
Would recommend to any avid darts player
i didnt play the 08 game but this one is great a must for the wii
After hearing about last years feeble attempt at a quality darts game for the Wii I was weary about purchasing this (I got this from another retailer for same price) but I am pleasantly surprised with this offering. Gameplay is easy to pick up (start of with "max assist" to get you going) and the commentary from Sid Waddell is good, although a little repetitive in places, but still good fun. I was a little disappointed that the players don't have their individual walk-on music. Maybe this will be added to the next version? The graphics are OK with attention to detail with the board and some nice facial touches on the players but players wrist areas look a bit weird!! All the crowd are standing up - all the time! But hey, these bits aren't that important. Overall very immersive game and well worth the money. If you like darts - BUY THIS GAME!!!! There are plenty of "party" games too such as Cricket, Killer etc etc. Due to the couple of lapses in detail mentioned above I would give this 4.5 stars in reality but I can't!
