Review

A triumphant return from a monster-infested forest marks the completion of the 16-year-old hero's coming-of-age ceremony. However, the hero's joy is short-lived as a young village girl is found to be afflicted by a mysterious illness known as "crystal sickness." Determined to obtain the cure, the hero steps out of the secluded village for the first time, only to discover a world in which crystals are merely artifacts of the past and no longer exist...

well, it's not one of the best FF games out there, but you should consider giving it a shot. It is quite fun, though i'm not sure what twistednibble is saying about FF and multiplayer seeing as there are more FF single players than multiplayer and they're excellent.

I bought this purely on the name only and that I trusted the content would be along the same vein as all the others. I've played most of the FF series on all consoles and I found it disappointing as FF games go, good for multiplayer but not really a good single player game as AI is woefully bad, and short story.

Also this version of the game is a straight emulation of the handheld version with no extra tweeks or improvements graphicly or otherwise.
Another point is the screen's split just like the handheld version and can be frustrating in the heat of battle with no fullscreen. If you're expecting a true FF epic I'd wait for the other consoles new title or the dedicated Wii FF later this year. If you have a handheld console I'd play this one on there as it has been designed prodomently for that platform being its sequel.
