Built from the ground up and developed exclusively for the Nintendo Wii, Dead Space: Extraction is a prequel that reveals the events leading up to Isaac Clarke's mission on the USG Ishimura in Visceral Games' award-winning Dead Space. Dead Space: Extraction marries the innovative motion controls of the Wii Remote with a frenetic first-person perspective to create a new action-packed horror experience.

Dead Space: Extraction tells the story of a handful of space colonists desperately struggling to escape from a horrific infection on the Aegis VII mining colony deep in the furthest regions of space. The game introduces a new heroine, Lexine, to the fiction and as the crew fall victim to a mysterious contagion aboard the ship, it becomes clear that protecting her may be their only hope for survival. Dead Space: Extraction introduces all-new characters, weapons, enemies, puzzles and co-operative multiplayer gameplay.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

An Amazing Story: Follow the lives of several different Aegis VII colony members as they fight off the Necromorph invasion and learn why Lexine is the key to their survival, all from a first-person cinematic perspective that makes you feel like you're really there.

Setting & Atmosphere: Play through an engrossing, interactive horror movie experience that pushes the boundaries of story-telling in a game. State-of-the art graphics and effects, panic-inducing sound, and a thrilling and scary pace will throw you headfirst into the terror which Dead Space is known for.

New Gameplay Scenarios, Weapons, Abilities & Enemies: Extraction offers first-person dismemberment combat, epic boss fights, new weapons, enemies and puzzles while bringing back old favourites such as TK and stasis to create a unique gameplay experience.

Cinematic Camera: Extraction uses a unique form of immersion with a cinematic first-person shaky cam experience, making the game just as enjoyable to watch as it is to play.

Co-Op Optimised Gameplay: Team up with a friend to protect Lexine and fend off the Necromorphs on the USG Ishimura and the Aegis VII. Players can jump in and out of Extraction to play the Co-Op Mode - it's as easy as just pushing a button on the Wii Remote!

I was quite confident that this would be decent and a cut above the standard 'on-rails' style shooter but I didn't expect the game to be as good as it is. For fans of horror, action and story driven experiences then Dead Space: Extraction is highly recommended.

This is a completely different gameplay experience from the game that is available on the XBOX 360 & PS3 but that does not mean it has been hastily put together and just thrown out onto Nintendo's console.

The developers and the Wii have somehow created a Dead Space game that has amazing graphics, sound, atmosphere and a story mode that had me hooked from start to finish, so much so that I had to complete the game in one sitting. Superb.

For fans of Dead Space this game has to be played through at least once and I cannot believe this is running on the Wii. They nailed the Dead Space universe with this game and the play through with different characters keeps things fresh and involving.

Game may be a little short but it was something I am really glad I believed in as the game payed off in a big way.

          Highly recommended.

           great graphics

the graphics is this gane are very good, some of the best i have seen on the Wii. not to difficult to pick up and play once you get used to controls.about half way through at moment and looking forward to finishing it.
not the most scariest game , but there is great sound and the atmosphere is tense in places.
personally i do not mind playing on-rails type of games, and to be honest you forget ths once you are playing.
for 15 quid this is well worth thr money

           Dead Space or Dead Loss?

          | | See all Frontovik's reviews (3)

Possibly the worst game ever, and should be remaned Wasted-Space.

If there was ever a game that was designed to make you feel divorced from the action, then this is the winner.

Dead Space is a slow-paced rail game, that leads you around by the nose and gives you constant prompt to tell you what to do, to the extent of making you, the player, feel like an optional extra.

The only thing that you really get to do is point and shoot (which can be fun- but not in this game), and the creators have even messed up on this one, because the cross-hair feature is so big and bright, that you can barely seee the target and therefor get to miss out on most of the gory fun. This becomes even worse in two player mode.

It should come with an auto-shoot option so that you can leave the game to play with itself & then you can go and do something less boring instead.

The overall experience is tedious and frustrating; at times you will find yourself compelled to yell at the screen when the 'action' makes you go in directions that no rational, or even insane, human being would take.

As far as the exciting story is concerned; by the end of the first level I couldn't have cared less.

          Dull Dull Dull Dull Dull.

           Best game on Wii!!!

          | | See all burgstar's reviews (27)

This is an awesome game in its own right and not just a case of "it's good for the wii." It scores across the board in terms of story, gameplay, innovation and value. There is a superb cinematic campaign that intersperses action with a great narrative, lots of more arcadey score 'em up side missions and even some animated comic books. The game play is great - dismemberment means that accuracy is even more important than most shooting games. If you have a wii there is no reason not to buy this game (unless you bought the special edition dead space 2 on PS3 that includes this).
