Although this looks quite big it is well balanced once attached to your controller. Nice and easy to use once you get used to typing on it too.

Oh, also the UK RRP for this IS £24.99 so its not any cheaper here than anywhere else !!

A great add-on if you use messenger or play Final Fantasy XI

Top 100 Games Reviewer

I picked this up after growing tired of hooking up a keyboard to my 360 when I wanted to play final fantasy 11 and being forced to play just a few feet away from my TV.

The Messenger kid makes things alot easier when typing messages to other people or talking over msn, as it saves so much time compared to using the on-screen keyboard on the 360.

My only faults with this at the moment are the size of the buttons, which can make it a little harder to type if you have large thumbs/fingers due.
The other thing is the layouy of the symbol keys. While it sticks as close the the layout of a normal keyboard as possible, it had to put most of the symbols (Such as @, / and \) in differant places.
To deal with this they have put 2 buttons on the keyboard, one green and one orange, which act like the shift key, allowing you to get to all these symbols. Its not a problem, but it is something that will take time to get used to.

The best thing about this is the fact that you just plug it into your controller, saving on the amount of cables running about the place, making things more conveiniant.

Also, the keyboard has a messenger button, if you have already started chatting with someone, pressing this will open up a dark window at the bottom of you screen, rather then the 360 blade filling the screen. This is good because in the case of movies, you can continue watching it as you send your message missing anything.

Thrown in, is the head-set which is made specifically to use with the keyboard, as the standard wired head-sets wont plug into the chatpad, which is a nice bonus, as it can be used without the keyboard if you like.

In all, I think this is a great add-on for the 360, especially if your someone who spends alot of time typing away to friends, and is a bit of a must have for people playing Final Fantasy XI on their 360.

 good...

Its good and all easy to use but like all 360 things its over priced, so i recommend using a normal usb keyboard works just as well just plug into you usb port and away you go

 Simply suburb€.

Let me start off by saying that I'm a thirty-something gamer, that thinks the Xbox 360 is the best thing since sliced bread! I've been a dedicated Sony man for as long as I can remember, and I've owned at least two Playstations in my time. Since upgrading from the original Xbox to the 360, all I can say is WOW, what a machine.

Microsoft in my opinion has raised the bar in the 360 and only the SP3, can come close or eclipse the latest MS offering. Both machines are great at what they do, with some very good extras in Blu-ray and HD-DVD. As I not a massive online player and will probably not use the full list of "Xbox 360 Messenger Kit's" plus points, I'm only half entitled to give the low down on what I've used so far. Please see MATTDARK's review for a technical opinion.

As with all things Microsoft, the build quality is simply excellent and you know that you're buying a pukker product which will last as long as you don't spill Lucozade into the buttons! The device fits the wireless remote control exceptionally well, it does not rattle about or move, once it's on...it's on. All of the buttons seem to be placed in a well thought out manner and the whole concept just adds to the freshness the 360 brings to the gaming table. You obviously receive an additional headset that has a different style connector to the other MS headsets that are available. This I think is a nice touch, as it means you don't have to spend additional monies on another headset, as your old headset won't connect to the new pad. As other reviewers have mentioned before, the additional weight the device brings to the wireless pad somehow "completes" the wireless pad, and makes me think that it should have been part of the wireless controller from the beginning!

The price of the unit is also very good, as far as I'm concerned. MS could have made the RRP £40+, and we would have brought it, but they make it £25 and it just seems a ridiculous concept not to buy it. All in all I'm very very happy with my new toy, and would whole heartedly urge people to try this next instalment of the 360 gadget range.

One other thing to take into account is Play's fantastic delivery system, order it, forget it and have a pleasant surprise two days later when your item arrives. BTW, I don't work for Play or Microsoft and these views are my own...enuff said!

 Great Idea

I put off buying this because I was unsure how well it would work.. The keypad is very small and I was unsure if I would be able to use it as well as I can a regular keyboard.

I finally plucked up the nerve to buy it and I really have to say it works very well.. the actual unit fits so well you would swear it is actually part of your 360 controller, theres no wobble or movement what-so-ever. the keypad lights up white when a key is pressed, you have a special messenger key that when pressed a small box pops up on your dashboard or game with the conversation you are having.. the problem i have encountered is when you have a message over xbox live (not MSN) you still have the same old problem of having the message blade shoot across your game screen altho the key pad can still be used to type it would have been nice to have the same small pop up box as you do with MSN conversations. the keys themselves are not as small as i thought they would be and they are quite easy to press altho typing on a QWERTY keyboard using your thumbs is VERY strange and may take some time getting used to.

This is a great Add-on for your 360, functional and very well built.. you also get the headset (yes it has the mic) the only difference with this headset is a) the volume/mute button is on the cord and b) the plug is different (you will NOT be able to use the headset you already have with this messenger pad)
