I was a big fan of the first Mass Effect however it was not without its problems. Fortunately Mass Effect 2 takes pretty much every snag with its predecessor an fixes it. Its very common these days for a game to be over within about 10-12 hours but ME2 has got some serious mileage. If you want to be thorough, explore everything and complete all the side missions you can milk this for around 40+ hours and its gripping and engaging all the way through. The balance between RPG and shooter is spot on so there's something for fans of both genres. The cut scenes can be as long or a short as you like depending on how you want to handle conversations with the numerous interactive characters in the game, the conversations are fluid and easy to follow, you could even say this is bordering on being a film. Overall I would say this is probably the best 360 game available right now and extreme value for money too. If you have only enough cash for one game get this. Its awesome in every way.

 Thankyou BioWare

Firstly its a great game, It took me a good 45 hours to actually finish the main bulk of the game, and i must say that its a brillaint story... spectacular on many levels, i thought it would be hard to carry on the story from the first installment but BioWare proved me wrong... Its got a bit of great humour in it, some grim moments and most of it is very cinema style narrative. There is now more choices aswell and every single choice you make will affect the outcome of that and sometimes the final mission, which is great as you feel as though you make an impact when you do something, and i think its a feeling not many other games can give you

Then the graphics, which are truly spectacular, i felt as though i was watching a very good movie while i flew through omega in the normandy, or looked at illium from a high bridge... and it just helps so much with making the story so much more immersive... however as they are so good, there are moments with a tiny bit less detail or with a graphical oddity which stick out, like one sequence where an asari and krogan are in love, the krogan seemed to fit and glitch when the camera was on him... but these are minor problems and now the framerate is steady and its definitely an extremely beautiful game, just like the first

The gameplay has changed but only slightly, it has been tweaked to make it easier and more action styled and there is now a massive amount of gunplay but most of the gameplay is similar to the first, with the ease in conversations to choose what to say and the ease of choosing powers and guns during a fight. A big amount of guns have now been added which make for the gunplay and action to be even more interesting. a few things have been simplified but i wouldn't say there is less choice as there is a big amount of choice with powers and upgrades, you can even change your armour and i spent ages making mine look the part

The Extra missions are very good fun, and searching the universe for extra missions is definitely a must, they are great, the areas you go to are extremly beautiful and have had a big amount of time and effort spent on each one, now the missions themsleves are also better than in the first, and the way you move through space is now better too with a little ship you control giving you complete freedom to go where you want, however there is slightly less freedom than you had on the planets with the mako, but soon they are releasing a hover tank which you can pilot which may bring back some memories of the old mako exploration

a few other bad things are, the planet scanning takes a very long time and although it is something you don't have to do... the game is better if you do and you miss a big amount of cool extras like upgrading weaponry for the ship if you don't do enough of it... some of the mini games to bypass things get a little samey... also the gunplay is fun, but the bulk of the main missions is killing enemies and there is a hell of a lot of enemies in each mission and they are pretty relentless, the different enemy types are great however, and now they have added dismemberment meaning you can torture your enemies by removing their leg and watching them crawl toward you if you feel in that kind of a mood and there is no doubt its a lot of fun once you have a big amount of powers and weapons at your disposal

Its a brilliant game... its definitely the best game ive played so far... you will spend a big amount of time on this game and it will definitely last you, im currently on my third playthrough and its still a blast...

I would recommed it to anyone and its one of the best gaming experiences around today, it wont dissapoint... well done BioWare

Mass Effect 2 is the best RPG on Xbox 360. Fact. It's immersive, fast and it actually gives you a ship and a galaxy to explore. How many games, apart from Mass Effect 1, give you that kind of freedom? And it pulls it off very well. The morality balancing is easy to manage and works well, as does the upgrade system, a new feature for the series. There are no features that I could definitely say I don't like. ME2 is an excellent game, one of the best on the 360. This game is the new Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

 Excellent all round!!!

There's no way I could ever give this game anything less than a perfect score as it is a pure masterclass in gaming. Regardless of whether it's an RPG, an action RPG, a shooter with RPG elements it is, at its heart, a no holds barred rollercoaster ride. The storytelling on show is magnificent, the characters rich, deep and engaging, the locations, scenery and attention to detail are second to none and the whole package is stunning.

Nothing is ever 'perfect' though and I really mourned the loss of the seamless transitions from ship to port and even the elevator loading screens in ME1 kept you immersed whereas now the immersion is broken with constant loading screens...leaving through the Normandy airlock was a highlight for me making it really feel like your character was leaving this vehicle, now you just magically appear outside via a few loading screens and the odd cut scene.

But these are minor gripes in what is the first truly AAA title of 2010, GOTY contender for sure and by far and away, in my opinion, the best action game on any console ever made, BioWare can do no wrong.
