Sega Rally

Real dissappointment! This game is basic and lacks ANY originality. The graphics are ok but nothing to shout about. I think this game looks & plays like it belongs on the Sega Mega Drive rather than XBOX 360!

This game proves how far racers have moved on its gameplay is so dated only the graphics have moved with the times. I can`t see how anyone other than the total novice or child would get fun form such a basic game

First things first - this is no simulation. I have been a huge fan of Sega Racing games, since the days of Outrun and I have played them all to death....my favourite being Sega Rally 2 both at the arcades and on the Dreamcast.

This game is simply all about enjoying the thrills of driving as quickly as possible without all the hassle of mucking about with setups etc. Sure, I appreciate the people who love adjusting tyre pressure by .5 psi on Forza 2 (Im one of them!!!) but you cant beat just turning the game on and playing - it also really shows who has all the skills when it comes to being the quickest online as its only the skill of the player. Very cool.

Now - the handling. Absolutely fantastic. It is so more subtle than alot of people have mentioned here. There are ways to drift in this game and your car will pick up speed with the rev counter bouncing off the limit. This sort of thing is why Sega racing games are awesome - so much hidden depth. The track deformation is brilliant too. It has a real affect on the race and the lines you take - I personally think it can help you go faster on the 2nd and 3rd laps if you can manage to follow your 'groove' from the first lap! People who truelly 'get' this game will be playing for a long time.

Dont even bother comparing this game to Dirt. I have them both - both fantastic games in their own right. However if your a die hard driving game fan and you have the $$$ get them both but if not and your a casual driving fan Id get this!

Anyway...if your thinking about it download the demo on live! I personally think Tropical 2, available on the demo, is a better track and a better representation of the tracks available in the game. There is an excellent mixture of tracks in the full version, each with suitably different feels to them.

Anyway - I hope anyone who buys it enjoys it as much as I do!

As you probably all know, from experience in various arcades, sega rally is one of the best arcade rally games ever made, and you all now have the chance to have this fun in your own homes. If you want a realistic rally experience, go and buy colin McRae dirt, which is also very good, but if you want hours of fun that all the family can enjoy, buy this, and at £17.99, its one of the best things you can buy for under £20.

I heard this game was quite tricky, don't get me wrong but it did put me off slightly, as i don't have much time on my hands. However after getting used to the cars and tracks this is an abosolute blast, very fast - especially with the later cars which you unlock.

When you finish a race 1st, you feel like you've earnt it.

Graphics are faultless, love the safari tracks with the animals on the side of the track, there lots of great touches on each of the tracks, which just shouts fun.

This is a work of genius on the designers point of view, clever how the points systems works so it offers you new cars, tracks and new designs for exterior your car.

I've knocked one star off, as could done with slightly more tracks, some tracks are reversed later on, but maybe needs bit more variety.

Would recommend this, stay patient with the cornering and you won't look back.
