I'm currently driver level 30 and online level 22 so im writing my review based on about 20+ hours of play....
This latest instalment has got awsome, smooth and flowing graphics with stunning tracks and amazing scenery.. I gotta take my hat off to Turn10 for listenening to what the fans had to say and icluded some huuuge complex tracks that require some serious skill and tuning prowess to own.. Theres a decent selection of cars but a lot of them are taken straight out of the last game with less new cars than old if that makes sense.
The introduction of the drag strips is great and makes for some exciting racing (though I would like to see a longer strip as most of the cars cant be maxed out in a mile).... BUT!!!!
This game is far too easy!!! the season mode feels more like a grind than a game mode, its rediculous, I recently hit lvl30 and Forza was like "hey, you won another race.. here have a Veyron" I even sat there and thought "whaa?? I dont deserve that!!, I rewound the race 4 times" They should have just made all the cars available from the start and let you do what you want because this attempt at a structured "GT style" mode just does not work and even though I race with aids off and Hard difficulty there is no challange at all from the AI.
This is not helped by the rewind function that makes losing a thing of the past, blindly hit the throttle on the inside of a car and if you spin out just rewind, and if you dont, keep goin!... not cool Turn10.
Theres a "quick tune" setting which lets you choose what class you want your car to be and buys all the upgrades necessary to max it out for that perticular class.... Again, built for lazy gamers.
There are some good points though. The custom painting is 10X better and a fantastic feature and also the new Storefront is a great innovitive feature that allows you to sell your setups and paints! to other gamers..
That said this is still a classic example of a developer bowing down to modern gamers who want the biggest kicks instantly. Some people may disagree but I prefer to work my way to the top and show my car off with pride because I worked so hard to get it and with Forza's customisation options it would have been even more special!.. in GT5Prologue the highest payout for winning a race was about 38'000 and the F1 car was 2'000'000! but trust me when you finally unlock it you get an awsome feeling! "I did it!!!" I spent days and weeks racing it because I had worked hard to get it and for me thats what gaming is about, the achievment, the skill it takes to get all gold's, the patience to save the credits for the veyron, Forza3 forgets all this and i'm sorry to say it lets the game down massively, I know GT takes this mic with release times but you can guarentee a more engaging, challenging and stimulating experience than this will give you... 3 Stars
