Batten down the hatches, there's a storm headed this way. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is the first game based on the global hit Naruto Shippuden manga and anime to appear on the consoles and is packed with new features and enhancements, a comprehensive character line up and stunning graphics.

Developed by acclaimed Japanese studio CyberConnect2, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is a tour de force of Naruto thrills and spills. Impressively faithfully to the universe of the anime, the game takes players through the Naruto Shippuden story arc with new battle systems enhancing the gameplay. Players must choose the right companions to fight alongside for a greater chance of winning, and together unleash explosive Team Special Techniques to lay waste to opponents.

Players will meet a host of criminal Akatsuki characters in the game, and in an astonishing story twist even see Sasuke wearing an Akatsuki costume. With the original Japanese voiceover, an almost endless number of unlockables and power ups to discover, a host of brand new environments to explore, two-player offline multiplayer, amazing visuals faithful to the anime, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is an unmissable tornado of fierce ninja action.

 A fan's must have game.

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 10/10
Replayability: 7/10
Learning Curve: For previous Naruto game players: about 20 minutes (give or take), for new people: 45 mins solid playing, to get a feel for the controls.

Pros:

- Graphics-wise, the top of it's class - visuals are beautifully rendered, blur is at a realistic and consistent level, the characters and their moves are perfectly rendered.
- Legions of characters to choose from, each totally different to last. Mixing and matching to find your ideal stable of 3 characters is both fun and rewarding.
- Plenty of fan service to be had here, HD cutscenes of the best fights from the anime/manga intertwine perfectly with the action (seamless transition between the fights and the storyline)
- Enough depth and immersion in a battle to really create a fantastic and visually pleasing battle, the elemental effects of fire, water and lightning on the opponent(s) is always a spectacular sight to behold

Cons:

- Ultimate Jutsu cutscenes are under 6 seconds long, compared with the previous game, this is sort of a setback
- The campaign mode can be very laboured and boring
- On Xbox Live, you are likely to only encounter a select few characters, hand-picked to spam

The Verdict:

A fantastic debut of the Ultimate Ninja series to the Xbox, virtually everything has been covered and no doubt that every single fan of the series would absolutely melt for this game. The online keeps everything fresh and hones your skills, whilst still maintaining a competitive edge. So, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls: a storm is coming, whether you step up to the mark or not, you will not soon forget an experience like this.

The demo is Epic!!! i have already pre-ordered this game from play.com best price out there and I can barely sit still waiting for the release,This is the best thing to come from the Naruto video game franchise.Buy it now before you regret it!!!!!

 Looking Good

From the demo this game seems surprisingly good. The fight really mixes things up - feels more like a boss battle in an action adventure title than your standard fighting game.

Only concern I have is that this game will contain huge spoilers for people who do not read the manga or watch the anime in Japanese with subs. It's a long way ahead of the current US dub releases.

 Boooooooooring....

The game description is wrong for one, this isn't the first Shippuden game on consoles. Its only the first self titled Shippuden game.
The fighting has leveled up since the PS3 Ultimate Ninja Storm, but that's all there is to the game. The demo only shows you one part of the actual game, the main part that is, in the fighting. But the rest of the story mode is spent running around doing aimless things. There is no map interaction etc. and no open world to do as you please, just as in Naruto Broken Bond, which imo is far better.
