        As a huge Tekken fan, (my love affair with the game starting way back with it's inception on the Playstation) i have been dying to play this game ever since it's development was first announced. I received it in the post this morning and have been playing it for a good few hours. My seemingly endless wait for the game's release made my expectations sky-high as i inserted the disc into my xbox 360 and watched the intro movie. Now at this point, i'm not going to bore you with what the opening movie shows or which character i picked first. I'll give you my positives and negatives. Positives first;
1 Huge 40 character roster unlocked from the start
        2 Massive story mode
        3 Endless character customisation
        4 Great graphics and sound
5 Beautiful and varied fighting arenas
6 The 6 new fighters are awesome
        7 Great online mode
8 Characters look better than ever
9 Combat is easy to pick up for novices and a real challenge to master for veterans
1 The much loved Arcade mode, a staple in the previous 5 games, is now nothing more than an afterthought, being situated in a second menu
2 The story mode is now the main attraction in Tekken 6 with it's substandard levels and repetitive gameplay. However, playing through this mode is the only way to unlock character's stories and their endings.
3 The final boss on arcade mode is awful and very nearly spoils the whole thing.
4 Online mode can lag pretty badly. I've only had the game for a day and i've already had several disconnections.
5 The original process of unlocking characters has been done away with, with all 40 fighters being selectable from the get go. Takes away that sense of achievement present in the other Tekken games of unlocking and fighting a brand new warrior.
To conclude, if you are a Tekken fan, then despite the drawbacks i've outlined above, you need to buy this game. It's fast, fluid and definitely the most tactical and complex beat em up on the market. While my drawbacks stop it getting a perfect score, it's still up there with Streetfighter IV as the king of fighters on the xbox 360. I'll see you in the ring...

If your expecting tekken think again !

If you are expecting to play a tekken game then DO NOT buy this game the first thing i could not believe was that the ARCADE MODE witch as any tekken player will know is the main part of the game, well this is no longer the case as arcade mode has been relegated to a second menu and is basically a mini game with 1 achievement ! the main game is scenario campaign mode and this is basically a beat'em'up style dynasty warriors game in witch you run around in 3rd person beating up endless random henchmen for whatever reason and in-between each short level you get some ridiculously long cut scenes and instead of unlocking characters you now have them all pre unlocked for you and you unlock things like a tennis racket to hold while fighting or a new hat to wear. On top of this the games sound effects are not up to par the same can be said for the graphics which look like an upscaled xbox 1 game and even worse in some parts of scenario campaign mode ! the online is very laggy sometimes failing to find games. so if you want dynasty warriors with tekken characters and a lacklustre story with the original tekken game tagged on as a mini game like tekken bowl or tekken force used to be and don't want to play online and are not bothered by the fact namco have gone to no effort with making the game look nice and sound nice then get this ! if you want a solid fighting game then go with street fighter or soul caliber !

         Typical Tekken - Brilliant :)

Everything about this game is brilliant - apart from the oversized final boss. If you played Tekken 5 and thought jinpachi was a nightmare to beat, picture jinpachi's size quadrupled, with more counter attacks. This boss is really quite difficult, but you'll quickly learn to guard/attack at the right time and beat it. The story mode is excellent. At the start, the opening scene of the story mode explains what has happened through tekken 1, all the way up to tekken 6, so if you haven't played previous games, it doesn't matter - you won't be confused as to what the story is about. I spent more than a few hours playing story mode alone, and I enjoyed playing it. Tekken 6 has offline mode and online mode. In offline mode, you can choose arcade mode, time attack, survival, teams, and vs mode. Choosing online mode allows you to play agaisnt other players - either ranked matches or casual matches. In the previous games, I always got stressed and wanted to throw my controller at the screen. Tekken 6 still has this trait. You will probably get very stressed while playing it (I get stressed because of the final boss :) ), but it wouldn't be a Tekken game without it. 5/5 - brilliant game.

Please note, I am writing this after spending an hour fighting the stupidly over sized, over protective and massively overpowered boss at the end of arcade mode. I wanted to bash my controller through the screen, I wanted to yell obsenities at passing neighbours, I kicked at the dog when it came in the room. Its just that BRILLIANT.
IMO, Tekken games have always wound people up to ridiculous extents. This retains that. Here's my summary on the pros and cons I've encountered so far.
        -Impressive graphics, especially on characters.
        -Ridiculous number of customisation options.
-60 fps is a really nice touch.
        -Exciting gameplay
-Not an annoying soundtrack. I cant remember it, so it must've been quite good.
        -Scenario campaign explains story well.
-A nice number of game modes.
        -Huge number of characters.
-Online implemented very nicely, no problems there.
        -Boss. He's terrible.
-Moves slightly changed, definately for yoshimitsu=[
-Ranked matches. People are so concerned of their rank, they'll just tap the same button over and over again to ensure victiry-where's the fun in that??
Personally, I'd recommend you buy it. I love Tekken, have done for a long time, and this isn't a disappointment. People don't like the scenario campaign, but you only HAVE to play it for a little bit, then you unlock arcade mode. Great fun with friends, and a real time killer. Just don't get to angry....

         Unfair beating.

This game is coming in for a fiar face mashing of its own, and i for one feel it is unjustified.
First of all, yes im a big Tekken fan and have had all the titles since the original on PS1 but that did not come into my mind with this instalment.
I purposely held off buying because of the bad press but in the end gave in and came into this game expecting the worst.
I dunno if its because of that mindset or not, but, upon booting up and subsequent playing i really, really enjoy this one.
1/ Graphics really are spot on with some fantastic level designs and great detail on the characters of which there are over 40+. Playing with the blur fx on makes a big difference as it makes the characters look even more 'expensive'!!!!!!
2/ Yes the tunes are cheesy rock and techno jobs but they do the job and the FX are gritty and fit into the game needs well.
3/ Gameplay - Tekken 6 has the similar controls that fans will enjoy, you can pick up and play with button bashing but true players will pull out their fav combos and marvel at the new ones.
1/ The graphics as said ARE good but some levels visibly have had more time spent on them than others and the destructable landscapes are not as good as DOA.
2/ Scenario mode is lacking as are the options in general, it does feel bare compared to previous games in the series.

Overall.............not quite the king of fighters but it does offer a really strong contender and well worth a purchase.
