Rock Band 2 delivers the most authentic and ambitious music game to date - by challenging rockers to master lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals with a polished, streamlined, and amazingly fun and challenging experience. Rock Band 2 features a tracklist that puts all other music games to shame with more than 100 on-disc and free downloadable tracks from some of the most hallowed bands of the rock pantheon.

Rock Band 2 ships with the biggest selection of epic rock songs of any music game to date - and every song is a master recording! It will also work with the hundreds of downloadable songs already available online. The tracklist includes songs from System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cheap Trick, Journey, Elvis Costello, The Who, and many, many more!

Requires a drum, microphone or guitar controller to play

  • The best band game on the market just got better thanks to a slate of innovative features from Harmonix, the preeminent music game studio! Take your band on an online-enabled World Tour mode, record albums, tackle the addictive Set Challenges, or even compete against other bands, either in your living room or halfway across the world, in the Battle Of The Bands mode... plus all of the modes you know and love from the first Rock Band game!
  • Innovative hardware updates! Rock Band 2 will ship with 2nd generation hardware: more durable, wireless drums with an expansion port to support cymbal pads and improved wireless Fender Stratocaster guitars - with multiple colours - that will let you rock harder and longer then ever before.
  • Rock Never Dies! Compatible with all past and future downloadable content - even tracks you downloaded for Rock Band back in 2007 - so you can play a never-ending, face-melting set.
  • Learn to play drums! Rock Band 2 pushes music simulation farther than it's ever gone with a tool that actually teaches you how to play the drums in real-life - or you can just have fun jamming and playing along to songs like an animal in the Freestyle Drum mode.

What Rock band Should Have Been...

This is just the job. Its exactly what rock band should have been. You can now solo tour and link up and tour with friends on live. For about 4 quid you can import rock band 1 tracks to make a massive list. Lets rock

Top 100 Games Reviewer

Like Fifa v PES and Halo v Gears, Rock Band v Guitar Hero is set to become one of gaming's big rivalries, and for now, Rock Band has the edge. In my opinion, the superior play list and swathes of DLC make this a must buy, and the instruments are very well made. Guitar Heroes guitar is better but it's drums are inferior and so is it's playlist. Rock Band also trumps it for value. This is a great game to play with friends, and challenging on your own. Guitar Hero seems to have missed the point, while they flood the market with unecessary games (Greatest Hits, Aerosmith) Rock Band just sticks to what people want, a great music game, no gimmicks. The original master, Harmonix, is still the master.

 Converted!!

I've always been a Guitar Hero guy, i own all the games. however, i always though the set lists on one and two were better than three and world tour. so i decided to try out rock band (made by the people who brought you guitar hero 1 and 2)

i have been completely converted! it's so much better than guitar hero 3 and world tour, i find the drums better on world tour simply because it's more realistic what with the two cymbal pads but hey, it's still amazing!

the amount and quality of the dlc (downloadable content) is fantastic! with new songs being added practically every week!

because no one seemed to know when i was purchasing this and i think there may still be some confusion, yes you can play this with the world tour instruments and yes you can play world tour with rock band instruments!

The Guitar Hero World Tour Instruments Work

To the previous poster, yes the guitar hero world tour instruments work. A youtube video shows that the kit uses the red, blue and green pads and the yellow symbol while the orange symbol is left out. Foot pedal works the same. The guitar works although im unsure if the "tapping" bar on the GHWT Guitar performs the same functions as the rockband's solo buttons. Hope this helps

Being a major fan of guitar hero and rockband i can safley say this is the best game out of the lot. The songs are bigger the gameplay is longer and everything is just spot on.
U can use all ur downloaded songs from rock band one on it as well as entering a code on the back of your manual u can get exclusive tracks and extras
