The next Guitar Hero is here! Get ready to thrash with the definitive collection of Metallica's music and over 20 other rocking bands on guitar, drums, vocals and bass. Up to four players can join together and rock locally, or battle other bands online with up to 8 players. Guitar Hero: Metallica includes the "Rock Star Creator," playing with friends online, the full Music Studio and the user-created music sharing service, Guitar Hero Tunes. Finally play the Death Magnetic downloadable content as Metallica.

The game supports two kick pedals in a new "Expert+" mode, letting you drum like Lars on two bass drums. Go deeper into Metallica with videos straight from Metallica concerts and the option to test your Metallica know-how on any song you beat with facts on the band's history, and how guest acts are tied to Metallica. Metallica has added their own touch from the attacks in Battle Mode to the effects in the Music Studio.

Amazing: 2nd best guitar hero after GH3

I Brought this game to get the new guitar as i only have GH3 on the xbox 360 an the guitar feels very flimsy compared to the new ones, i now love this game so much, the songs are much more challenging than GH4 and Aerosmith, even though the menu layout is similar to GH4 which is a slight annoyance i would still recommend this to any Guitar Hero fan. The graphics are amazing and the band look extremely lifelike and the effects on stage that can be seen behind the Guitar Neck are also very entertaining to watch. There could have been a few more songs on here as there are not as many as GH4 and i wish all of Metallica's songs could have been on here, but it cant have everything.
Overall: Amazing Guitar Hero, recommended for any Metallica or Guitar hero fan.

I am a HUGE Metallifan. So, having an Xbox 360 it was natural to want GH:M.

The delivery was on-time, and the game arrived undamaged.

Playing the game: The game is much like all the others in terms of gameplay - holding the buttons and strumming etc. However, the songlist is a must for any Metallifan, and even a must for general players. Sure, some of the earlier songs (Dyer's Eve in particular) are near impossible for me to play on hard - but one must be challenged or it's no fun! But, there are more than enough hits to get you headbanging!

One word of warning though!!! The guitar controller seems a bit...flimsy. After about 3 weeks of playing, the controller seems to strum itself - resulting in a loss of multiplier and much frustration. Also, the slide bar does not work well for me - but I just use the normal buttons for those sequences anyway.

So, to sum up: GH:M is a loud and heavy assortion of Metallica hits and other good(ish) songs. However, go carefully with the controller as it can be a bit temperamental sometimes! Might be best to use the GH3 one if possible.

i'll just rate the different components out of 5 then explain

songlist 5/5:
amazing songlist all the best matallica song (apart from trapped under ice). i don't hate any of the non-metallia song either althought there are some pretty cheesy ones

gameplay 3/5:
got the same of WT but introduced the star mater which is something i've suggested on the GH forums from the start.

campaign 2/5:
this is pretty bad i played on hard and had unlocked all the songs by half way through. needs to return to GH3 format.

longevity 5/5:
haven't stopped playing since i've got it, i have GH6 and still play this. the songs never get boring, i've even been through the campaign on all instruments(including signing) just because it dosen't get boring

i'm a big metallica and a big guitar hero/rock band fan. a definate buy if your any of these
