Shivering Isles features more than 30 hours of new gameplay and allows you to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion - the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles adds to the existing world of Oblivion so you can continue playing with your existing save game/character, or create an all new character just to explore the new content.

Also includes Knights of the Nine Expansion Pack.

 Bit of a con

We were bought this for xmas as we have played Oblivion to death. However, as another reviewer has mentioned, you need to be connected to xbox live to be able to play the expansion. Nowhere that I can see does it state this on the box. The only reason you need to connect up is to get the actual Oblivion game update which is free. This is all very well if you have the means to actually connect up to xbox live. We were absolutely gutted to find we couldn't play this expansion. I have only given it a 2 star rating simply for this reason. I feel it is a complete con and to presume that everyone has xbox live is to be honest not right or just. We are lucky that we have a modem router and an xbox downstairs which I have managed to connect up via LAN. It's the first time I've ever connected up and to be honest, it was very easy and no pc is needed. I am writing this becuase I feel people ought to be made aware of this. As I say, nowhere that I can see does it state on the box that an update of Oblivion is required. Now that I have the update, I just hope it was worth all the hassle!!

I also bought this as a download add on; Brilliant
Sheogorath (the Prince of Dementia) steals the show. He's the kind of guy who'd go down a storm at a house party: schizophrenic, prone to violent outbursts, throws threats around at random and seems to issue orders completely at random. Watch out, allergy suffers, because this guy is completely nuts.
The Shivering Isle is split into two contrasting halves. One side, Mania, is a riotously colorful and rich world, while the other, Dementia, is far darker and more menacing. Each has its own guards & its own ruler.

The will come a time that you will be asked to chose a side by Sheogorath (Dementia or Mania) while'st in a church, make sure you save your game here & dont delete over it...

Becuase if you want to finish the 2 sperate games you will need to reload from this point, you will also get all the achievement points available to the Shivering Isles which is 250 :)

I can't rave about this add on enough, I think I spent a total time of 145hrs on the whole of Oblivion & there was so much that I didn't do

Buy Oblivion, buy this add on & you will be hooked, say goodbye to your other games, this is the only one you will need for some time

Half the size half the price - Great Value

This game comes with Nights Of The nine aswel as Shivering Isles and is well worth your investment but only aslong as you are online active.
I dont know why you have to be online but its something to do with Microsoft, not Bethesda.Probably a design choice to try and get more people online.
Overall though i think its better still to buy this package than download online as atleast this way if you need space on your system you can delete the pack and then re-install whenever you like or even sell it on.Downloading means your left with it forever unless you delete it.
Great addition to an already amazing game - you can never have too much Oblivion!

 Quality Over Quantity... Definately!

I also downloaded this add-on (for the rather skanky 2400 points!) But didnt regret it whatsoever. But as I explain that it is 100% quality over quantitiy at the end of the day. The game starts with a portal appearing in the Nibenay Basin area in a little island. A resident from the Shivering Isles rushes out as soon as you arrive to give you a taste of the sort of madness that awaits you in the portal. The main thing about this in my opinion is, its different to the land of Tamriel. It has got many fun activities to be done, the funnest being rebuilding a 10-foot monster which you once destroyed to get into the realm. Just for the record, everyone in the realm is either disturbed, tormented or just pure CRAZY in some way or another. None beingmore so than Lord Sheogorath, the Madgod. He enlists your help to stop the almighty Greymarch which once every so often destroys the realm. All in all the Shivering Isles is something new and exciting in the land of The Elder Scrolls. As expected the occasional quest is rather samey but hey, if your a guy playing this it doesent get much better then leading a group of amazon-like women into battle against another group! As mentioned it lacks a little in different side quests, with the same old search somewhere and bring back. Also I doubt there is 30 hours of new gameplay, ive got bout 10 thus far. If your willing to continue playing in the world of Oblivion and want something fresh for it with plenty new things then go ahead if your willing to part with £18. But I certainly think the downloadable Kingts Of The Nine is better value for what it is but if you want more Achievements for your Oblvion buck then certainly get this over than Achievementsless Knights. One more important thing. DO NOT kill yourself or attack Lord Sheogorath, you'll live to regret that you did.

 This game just DEILVERS!

If you were a fan of oblivion, you are not going to be disappointed with the expansion, an entire new realm with crazy-insane NPC's inside it, all new armor and weapons, spells and even a pet at one point, the storyline is very good and enjoyable, you don't need xbox live since I downloaded the patch when I was offline, definately worth getting!
