Set 500 years after the original game, Fable II offers even more choices and features, while building on the core gameplay theme of Fable where every choice continually defines who you become, allowing you to truly live the life you choose.

Limited Collector's Edition contents:

  • Fable II game
  • Bonus DVD with new 'making-of' feature
  • Bonus in-game content (requires Xbox LIVE) - 'The Hall of the Dead' Dungeon, 'The Wreckager' Legendary Cutlass Weapon, and Spartan Armour and Energy Sword
  • Game features:

    • Choices, consequences. The innovative gameplay pioneered in the original Fable provided gamers with a never-before-seen level of immersion in a truly interactive world. Fable II expands upon the scope and depth of the Xbox classic by adding incredible new features and creating a wider, more complex kingdom of limitless choices and consequences.
    • A land far, far away. Revisit the sprawling world of Albion more than 500 years after the events of the original Fable, where you are free to explore the landscape and openly roam the countryside. For the right price every house, hut, dungeon and castle is for sale.
    • Fight with ease. Fable II pioneers a new combat system designed to allow players to truly master hand weapons such as swords and maces, ranged combat weapons such as bows and guns, and an entirely new magic system. These three disciplines, while very accessible, are also amazingly deep, and allow players to mix combat styles and become everything from master swordsman to skilled ranger to evil magic wielder.
    • A hero's best friend. This groundbreaking addition to the game is integral to the theme of unconditional love in Fable II. The canine companion will act as friend, compass and protector. Players must merely feed their pooch and he will love unconditionally, creating a bond that sets up emotion-filled journeys all throughout this magical world.
    • Experience the world together. For the first time in the Fable series, gamers can experience the expansive and immersive world of Fable II with friends, utilising the new and exciting Dynamic Co-Op Mode, bringing the long-awaited multiplayer function to the world of Fable II.

     Several european languages are missing

The game is not localized (not voices nor texts) in French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese or Spanish (even when the vouchers inside the case were in English, Portuguese and Dutch). This is a big disappointment, I was planning to play Fable 2 with my girlfriend, who does not understand English very well.
The bonus DVD must be played in your 360, it does not work in a computer DVD or standalone player.

     Perfect Game and Sequel

Fable 2 is visually stunning and has kept that fable gameplay style. After playing this game for an hour or so I can honestly say that this game will last me for a very long time.

The game is superb and plays like a dream. It has many features, all of which, in my opinion, are pretty much perfect. Like most people I have waited a long time for this game and have not been dissapointed. This is certainly a game that I could play over and over again.

A must have for anyone with an Xbox 360 as this is one of its defining titles. But if you played the first one then you'd be stupid not to buy it.

     Huge, immersive and amazing

Fable 2 has long been anticipated by fans of the series and they will not be disappointed. The game has a huge world with many areas to explore and secrets to find. Players new to the series will be pleased with the simple yet effective battle system and many satisfying quests. The game allows full exploration of the world of Albion and players choose what actions to perform to ultimately decide their fate as good or evil. Which path will you take?

     Excellent, but with it's faults.

It's quite hard to sum this game up to be honest.

Story - Not its strong point being honest, very much like Fable 1, your wronged at an early age and seek vengance, evil guys trying to wrong the world, you rise up and smack him down ect...

You dont really get to know the main characters and there are no plot twists. You go from A to B, via C and then thats it. This is the only fault I can find with the story, but in an "epic" game such as Fable you would like to have more plot and a bit more drive. It seems like it's over all a bit to soon.

Side quests: I dont think I've even scratched the surface. Epic, entertaining, varied and fun.

The World: I could write a thousand words on the world and not quite get across how huge it is, not in a physical sense, but things to do. You can literally spend hours just walking around a town doing nothing.

Bad Bits: In places it feels very unfinished, graphics glitchs, and a few people I know have had quest glitchs forcing them to re-start the game from scratch. The magic combat system is VERY hard to get to grips with. Personally, I hate it. The dog; the creators were banging on about the dog or your "compainion" alot. It's an over glorified metal detector. Pointless having it in there. Earning cash, altought not a hard can be a chore early on as you dont get it from quest rewards anymore, if your a "good" character, the only real way to start earning cash is from a job. These are simple and boring as sin, literally hitting the A button at the right time and trying to build up a chain. If your evil, rob, kill and pillage. Nice and easy. Both paths eventually lead you to getting on the property ladder, once your there your income is sorted and you can start building your property empire. The last gripes I have are the menu system, clunky and slow and hard to naviagte and the loading times. There can be up to a 30 second load time moving between areas. Not good for todays games.

Good bits: The humor in Fable 2 is top notch. Dry, sarcastic, and alot of 'in' jokes players from Fable 1 will get. The world still feels like Fable 1, you see places from the first game, hear stories of old. It's nice to come back. Combat (well the guns and swords) is functional, and it dosent get stale. From your first fight to your last, it's fun. The moral choices, there are a few in the game that genuinly will have you thinking and pondering as you find out early in the game, the 'good' choice, may not always be the best for the world. Lastly, the effect your character has on the world around him, you actually see towns change as a direct result of your actions. The best example is Barrowstone, the first town. In the child prologue, you are asked to collect 5 warrents for arrest. If you chose to give them to the guard, a part of Barrowstone becomes a reputable, wealthy district. If you give them to the local crook, it becomes a slum full of prostitues and drunks. There are many choices in the world like this, and all of them do have a profound effect on the world around you.

Overall, Fable 2 is a excellend game, the world they have created is a masterpeice. But it's got it's fair share of problems (but most large and well made RPGs to, Mass Effect & Oblivion are two prime examples) If you liked Fable 1, then just buy this. Theres no two ways about it you have to play this game. If your not a returning player, give it a chance, because once your sucked in, your not leaving.

Ive given it a four star for two reasons, the un-polished / rushed feeling to some parts of the game and the slightly weak story line.

    Enjoy

     Sequels on the 360

Personally to me this game is one of the best on the 360 console but like other people have said in their reviews about this game it IS a let down in some places but I find most Xbox sequels can be a let down, but this game makes up for it in other ways. If you pump enough money into the Temple of Light in Oakfield the terrain will change and there will be new housing plotting around which you can then buy, not sure if its the same with all the other locations on the map but I thought it was a brilliant idea when I found this out. The game like any other has flaws but when/if theres any downloadable content it will give the game a good boost. All in all I love this title and im sure many others think the same.
