Shadows Of The Damned is an all-new psychological action thriller game from iconic Japanese developers including executive director Suda51 (director of No More Heroes), creative producer Shinji Mikami (director of Resident Evil) and music composer Akira Yamaoka (sound director of Silent Hill).

Heavily influenced by the Grindhouse style including projects from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez, Shadows Of The Damned presents a unique vision of hell taking gamers on a twisted journey through a demented underworld where death and destruction are around every corner

Shadows Of The Damned follows a demon hunter named Garcia Hotspur deep into a hyper-demented re-imagining of hell where he must rescue the love of his life by defeating the armies of darkness with the power of the light. Shadows of the Damned delivers shocking and unique gameplay experiences that include over-the-top action, grandiose boss battles, demented puzzles, grotesque enemies, heart-pounding moments and psychotic imagery.

Working his way through the City of the Damned to get his love back, Garcia is aided by Johnson a former demon with the ability to transform into an array of vicious weapons, Garcia will once again take on the mantel of "demon hunter" and rip apart the demented forces of the underworld to protect what he loves most.

Throughout the game players must utilize the power of the light to fight the army of the dark in unique light versus darkness gameplay that will forever change the way gamers perceive puzzles, combat, and action.

Brace yourself for one hell of a trip to the city of the damned.

This game beats RES Evil 5 hands down. The controls are smoother and the game itself isn't as serious. You conrol a guy that hunts demons and when his girl is kidnapped by a powerful one you have to journey through hell to get her back alive. It has funny one-liners and has an adult theme running through it so maybe not recommended for young kids!
The shooting is like RES 4, you target with an infra red dot and can take off demons arms, legs and heads. Taking out their legs means you can finish them off by jumping on them as they crawl after you.
You have to balance light areas (safe) and dark which eats at your energy until you leave. You have to go into the darkness to turn off some door locks but don't stay too long as your health goes and there is alot more demons in the darkness after you.
If you're a fan of SH games definitely get this, with 10+hours gameplay its value for money and is great fun too.

Warning Not Like RESI or Silent Hill

False packaging, This game is just a Manic Shooter. Just goes from one lot of mayhem to another. If you like being surrounded by monsters that move quicker than you and all you do is frantically bash buttons then get this. But if you are expecting a Story forget it.Worst Game I have ever played.

To be honest i hadn't heard of this game till a week before release. But after reading a review in a 360 mag where it got a solid 8/10 i decided to give it a go. I have to admit after the first 30-45 minutes i started to doubt my decision. But after continuing with it i soon discovered what a gem of a game it is.
It kinda reminds me off the grindhouse movies the way it plays out. The graphics can occasionly look rough but that adds to the way the game comes across. It has a brilliant music score and the voice acating is tops and the banter between Garcia and Johnson hardest settings as meduim is not to hard to beat.

Wow!, this is a superb game! The controls are great, cool graphics & its well scripted too. Not to mention the awesome soundtrack! The fact that you can upgrade your weapons & other atributes is cool too. 1 or 2 people have bad-mouthed this game but I guess some people are just difficult to please.

A great game spoiled by some bad design choices.

The game was great fun to play until chapter 4 it then turns into a frustrating mess because of bad design choices.getting through the first 3 parts of chapter 4 is pure luck and just sucks all the fun out of the game. There is also no new game + feature when you complete the game.
