I used to be an avid gamer when I was younger but have found myself in the same old rut of getting a game only to play it for a few hours and then not touch it again.
This is exactly what I did with SR3. I did the first mission, drove around for a bit and then put it down.
9 months later however on the off chance I picked it back up and started playing and basically did not stop for a couple of days. It was like I was young again, I really wanted to do the next mission as soon as I had completed the last. Now I have completed the story mode I even want to go and do the extra bits, which I almost never do anymore (Batman a huge example)
The game itself is basically GTA4 but with less optional extras (such as playing pool / darts, getting drunk, having a girlfriend) however does stuff so much funnier. It really lets itself go and doesn't take anything seriously.
The story mode is good with a variety of different things to do and does not seem to get repetitive (even though obviously it is mainly driving to and from places and shooting lots and lots of people)
As I know a lot of people get hung up on graphics, they are decent in the cut scenes and generally good in play although nothing special and there are a few glitches and pop up which are very noticeable however do not get in the way of the gameplay.
My main gripe is that I think it could have explained the controls better as I did spend a little time at the beginning aimlessly wandering around as did not know there was a map and GPS (however that is probably my fault as it probably did explain 9 months ago when i started plus there is always the manual if i wanted to read that)
I have given it 5 stars just to make people notice. In reality i do not think it is a 5 star game as there are other out there that are better however it is a great addition to anyone's collection.
Hello, I am a 21 year old female gamer who usually sticks to the fantasy adventures and RPGs but I took a chance on this game because I needed a new online game (COD was getting a bit repetitive).
It has a city map like your standard GTA (or similar game) but you can play online co-op through all the missions. Free roam throughout the city can be annoying when your friend keeps angering the gangs and cops but its a ton of fun playing with someone else. You customise your own character (male or female, race, voice etc) and you can buy some fantastic outfits including super hero costumes - lots of customisation! The graphics aren't pushing boundaries but I'd call them average (which isn't at all bad this gen). As always you get to pick between some radio stations while cruising around in your car (or tank or helicopter... or attack plane). The choices can make a difference too, ie at one point your decisions indicate whether you get a certain epic vehicle or not or other choices can net you respect or money depending on which way you go.
This game is overflowing with derp (stupid and funny things) and jokes. It doesn't take itself seriously at all. It's full of rediculous explosions, out of this world vehicles, a BDSM club, zombies and other strange and wonderful things! Well worth a play if you're looking for an unrealistic and crazy game. Personally I think more games should be made with this amount of derp.
I got this game for Christmas. And it's been the only game I've been playing since Christmas. The graphics are excellent and there is a good strong solid plot. If you like GTA. I would recommend you play Saints Row the Third
Great game well worth buying, vehicles are great and a huge range of them, helicoptors that can use in plane or helicoptor mode. Gangs are tougher as well as police as they all deploy roadblocks once you have annoyed them. Good range of foes with special abilities, can go through all the missions quite quickly on easiest mode. However so much to do in game with activities, assassinations, chop shop as well as just doing your thing!! Only negative point seems to be that it doesn't save cheats unlike SR2 as well as no god mode full ammo etc. However with the upgrades available through your phone and friendly fire to upgrade weapons, really not needed except maybe at start, Radio stations not as good as previous ones but that's maybe personal preference. In short buy it and enjoy, fave vehicle is possibly the crusader tank ;-)
I have played the 2 previous saints row games and was not really impressed but this one is amazing. You simply could never get bored as there is so much to do.Costume changes for your character, side quests,Gang fights plus all the missions,47 in total.I just can't put this game down.I have always been a big fan of rockstar games but this game leaves rockstar behind.Just buy it,you will not be dissapointed.
