The critically-acclaimed Command & Conquer series returns with Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. This highly-anticipated next chapter takes the popular series back to its roots in the Tiberium Universe and features the fast, fluid gameplay that Command & Conquer is known for.

It is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium - a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth - is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The Global Defense Initiative, a high-tech alliance of the world's most advanced nations, is fighting to contain Tiberium, but Kane, the megalomaniacal leader of The Brotherhood of Nod has other plans for Earth. Kane's secret society turned superpower is bent on using Tiberium to take control and transform humanity into his twisted vision of the future. All-out war rages over Tiberium and the fate of the planet rests in the balance.

Over 35 Single Player Missions: In a vast open-world 'theatre of war' where each decision you make matters, you'll experience one cohesive, epic story told from the unique perspective of all three warring factions.

Story Like You've Never Seen: Over 90 minutes of high-definition, live action video sequences that seamlessly tie the game's epic story together featuring an unparalleled, diverse Hollywood cast. Top talent includes Tricia Helfer, Josh Holloway, Michael Ironside, Billy Dee Williams, Grace Park, Shauntay Hinton, and more.

AI With Distinct Styles of Play: The game AI matches your style of play - choose from play styles such as 'rushing,' 'turtling,' 'guerilla,' and more, or level the battlefield and let the AI use its own tactics to give you the highest level of challenge.

New Ways to Attack: Keep your opponent guessing by building flying battleships, wielding the power of terrifying Ion Storms, and combining units to form powerful never-before-seen super-units.

Technology Makes the World Come Alive: Lose yourself in reflected sunlight and scream in sheer joy as you blow chunks off of enemy tanks, structures, and anything else you can launch a rocket at. The game world gains a new dimension and the battlefield comes to life as the atmosphere fills with smoke, fire, haze, tracers, explosions, and state-of-the-art weather effects.

Xbox LIVE Exclusive Multiplayer Modes: Experience four multiplayer modes - Siege, Capture the Flag, Capture & Hold, and King of the Hill.

Xbox 360 Vision Camera: Meet your opponent face-to-face in the lobby and talk to them while playing the game. As a bonus, check out the "Winners Circle" feature where the winner of any match can have bragging time.

Real Time Strategy is something of an enigma when it comes to running on a console. The games industry has tried in the past with some success with Lord of The Rings, but it's not until now that I feel they have managed to make their mark on the console market.

C&C has already been released on the PC and in many ways this version is identical. The major differences are :-

            1) Controls are by the joypad. This is very intuitive and quicker in some aspects to the mouse\keyboard combination. Micro - Mangement is a bit hard as selecting a single unit can be difficult. Overall the joypad performs admirably on this title. I don't think mouse\keyboard purists will be converted and some people may not get to grips as quickly as they liked but practice makes perfect.

            2) Support for the XBox Live Vision Camera which allows you to all see eachother in real-time video. This adds a new and ultimately rewarding aspect to the game and makes it more interpersonal than the PC version.

            3) Exclusive modes - Unique to the 360 the developers have added a few extra modes which will proably appear on the PC once they mod it.

As for the game....it's got a blockbuster presentation, compelling story and the gameplay is second to none. I really thought it would suck, but this game is the best RTS game you'll find on any console, and considering it's stepping into the PC arena it deserves alot of respect for that alone. Buy it, or at the very least download the demo. I would advise you read the PC reviews first to help you decide.

Pitty the PS3 didn't get this, they could have done with at least one good game this year ;-)

I haven't played the C&C series since the first release years and years ago. I download the trial from xbox live. I was expecting it to be a fantastic looking game but perhaps lost some of it original appeal - I was wrong. Not only does this look fantastic it plays really well too, especially via xbox live.

Don't know what to make of this.

            This game is average.
Good things first. This game is addictive. The story mode is well set out, and online is better. The battles look incredible.
Now, the bad things. It is repetitive, with all battles being the same. AI is too hard. Controls are fiddly. And if the enemy makes loads of tanks, you usually lose, because for some reason, their tanks are always better than yours.
Rent this game and see what you think.

             Great game but...

Great game but the controls suck a console is NOT made for this type of control system if you could control BFME2 ok then your fine as this has basically the same control system its really hard to do what you want I prefer the PC version over this one.. But if you couldnt control your units on BFME2 DONT GET THIS. If you want a feel for the control system go and download the Battle For Middle Earth 2 Demo off marketplace b4 you put 40 big ones down for this..

Being a big RTS fan (Real Time Strategy) and a fan of the Command & Conquer empire I got this game on the release date. Even though it is not as good as playing it on the PC it is a good Xbox360 adaptation and with the achievments makes you play matches you wouldn't normally try. I absolutly loved the introduction of the new faction of Scrin aswell these aliens mean business and are really fun to play as. Despite the lack of vehicles (I like loads of option there is a standard amount) and the bad online connections this game is still a win for me. Its the idea that you go in thinking GDI are the best because they have the biggest stuff but as time roles on you will soon realise that all factions are equal in different ways.
