I would rate this game as excellent. It takes a bit of getting used to but I would say that for any game. Once youve got used to it you realise how sensitive the Kinect is to your movement and you can pretty much put the car where you want it.
The game has lots of different modes. I love the battle mode which is just like Super Mario Kart with weapons etc. On the tracks there are jumps and you can perform stunts by moving your body.
Played it on 2 player last night and had a real laugh....even non game enthusiasts enjoyed it.

This game IS very similar to Mario Kart but has extras such as performing stunts while in mid air and seeing your in-game photos after each race. The Kinect motion sensor is very accurate and the only flaw i've found so far in Joy Ride is if you crash and accidentally go the wrong way it's very difficult to do a U-turn and can cost you the race!
I have had it three weeks now been trying my hardest to get to grips with drive a car with no steering wheel. Its inacurrate frustrating. if you want a decent kart game get Mario Kart, Modnation or Blur this is not worth your time
This game has tried to copy mario kart and modnation racers but.....nothing will ever beat mario kart, so this game looks terrbile in comparison and it is no way near as fun as modnation racers because there is track editing, car editing and editing your characters.
Poor game
This is an epic game! The battle mode IS a better version of mario kart.
Great fun with mates.
