Call of Duty 3 delivers the intensity of being closer than ever to the fury of combat during the Normandy Breakout, the historic campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin. Through a seamless narrative that delivers the rush of unrelenting battle and breathtaking action, players assume the roles of four ordinary Allied soldiers-American, British, Canadian and Polish-and are thrust onto an authentic, living battlefield for an unprecedented variety of combat, with advanced high-definition graphics, detailed character animations and explosive on-screen action, delivering the most immersive and cinematically intense war experience ever.

The Power of Next-Gen: Built from the ground-up for next-gen consoles, Call of Duty 3 brings the battle to life with advanced graphics, a new physics engine, a procedural environment and detailed ensemble animations that deliver the most cinematic war experience ever.

Battle Actions: An all-new close-quarters battle mechanic allows players to fight hand-to-hand, improvise explosive devices, disarm traps and execute a host of other battlefield situations that require cunning and rapid reflexes to survive.

Branching Mission Paths: Next-generation level design provides multiple attack routes that let players decide how to confront the enemy - flank an opponent, or hit him head-on. Each unique mission path requires special tactics, from sniping and demolition to all-out head-on clashes.

Nowhere to Hide: Environmental physics allow players to destroy enemy soft cover hideouts, forcing foes out in the open. But be wary, opponents can eliminate your protective cover as well.

Team-Based Multiplayer with Vehicles: Combined arms and team-based combat provides unprecedented depth and variety by allowing up to 24-players to battle it out online with the option of single or split-screen Internet play. Gamers have the choice to play as infantry or commandeer multiple-occupancy vehicles, including tanks, jeeps, and motorcycles with side-cars, leading to unique mobile combat roles for all-out, multiplayer mayhem. Call of Duty 3 also offers soldier classes, each with class specific abilities, and a ranking system for truly diversified squad combat.

COD3 was a good all round game with intesnse missions!!!

Graphics are great, sound is good and gamplay is good to. If you want to enjoy this more I recommend you play this with 5.1 surround sound as it changes the game completely.

A hard game to play but once you get into it really good fun.

        A must buy!!!

        and second great fun game.

From what i'v seen (yes he did most of the playing lol) it looks great and the gameplay looks awsome but i did get a good shot of online though

i have an xbox 360 but i cant connect to xbox live, but my mate can and well i played this game online at his house and well its one of the best online expieriences, its just so satisfying to actualy get a kill.

        overall great fun

only 4 stars though because im not a huge fan of World war fighters.

It does really anoy me reading the reviews for this game when people say ' i bought this game after cod4 and its way behind it' well yeh of course it is get a grip this game came out about 18 months befor cod 4 so of course the graphics or gameplay aren't going to be as good nither is the online play but this game is way better that similar ww2 game such as moh: Airbourne so stop bad mouthing a game just because it isn't up to cod4 standards which you should't have expected it to be either, anyway this is a gr8 game very playable and fun time and time again

         Treyarch hits the spot.

Just finished this game and i was really surprised by it. My brother recomended it and I was very skeptical abot it but when i got stuck into it really enjoyed it. A great campaign overall with 14 missions where you get to play as the British, American, Polish and Canadian Soldiers which are laid out extremely well. Overall a great game.

         Multiplayer-tastic!

I bought this game before I subscribed to XBOX live and thought that it was good. The levels are big and free-roaming but without all that endless going back and forth trying to figure out where to go. The action is quick paced and the skill level ramps up throughout the game at the right pace. Having said all that it still didn't quite match up to the better Medal of Honour games (very few WWII shooter do in my opinion).
Once I got on to XBOX live though it was a different story - the on-line multi-player is frighteningly addictive with up to 24 players playing at once, large and varied maps and a good choice of weapons and vehicles.
For the single payer alone I would have given it a 4-and-a-bit but add on the multi-player and if there had been a 6 star rating then I would have gone for that one.
