Developed by Tokyo-based tri-Ace Inc., Resonance Of Fate redefines the RPG genre with a unique storyline, highly stylised graphics, and an emphasis on realistic gunplay and engrossing action. Players will be immersed in a gritty, highly mechanised world unlike any other. With Hollywood-style action sequences, customisable weapons, and memorable characters, Resonance Of Fate takes players far beyond the boundaries of the typical RPG.

Top 100 Games Reviewer

Seeing as there's no other reviews on here, I presume the 'other' JRPG out this month has swept this under the carpet. I'll be blunt. This takes a long time to get going and is difficult, sometimes needing grinding to get past bosses. But, if you've got time to invest in a rewarding and deep JRPG, this really opens up and becomes a great game. It's often a question of tactics. One boss I felt was stupidly hard actually became manageable when I mixed up my tactics. Story wise, it's a bit confusing, but all comes together a bit later on and starts to become clear. Up until now, I've tried to avoid comparing this to Final Fantasy, but it's unavoidable... This is better. It lacks the production values of FF, but it's a better game. The characters and story are better and more fleshed out than FF and there is definitely a lot more here for experienced JRPGers. The battle systme is great and there is a lot of gaming here. A tad unforgiving, but rewarding and with a hidden depth that Final Fantasy cannot match.

 Very Good Rpg

To start out i would say this game is very hard and its more about strategy and planning attacks then to go out all guns blazing. It does take a while to get going but once it does its very addictive. Im about 10 hours in and only on chapter 2 out of 16 i think. There is a lot of customization with weapons and lots of costumes a lot of side quests and tons of exploration. The world map is also very unique along with the over the top game play. All in all its a good Rpg although the difficulty could put many people off.

 Pretty good

In my opinion this is one game that you should invest in if your into RPG's not only does it take a while to get used the story keeps you guessing all the way through

Gameplay is quite fun with the whole matrix style dodges and jumps, however some battles may require you using your noggin' a bit more with some battles where planning before shooting is always the best option

Great game not quite FF but good fun

 one amazing game

this game is the hardest rpg ive ever played alot of people thought that final fantasy 13 was hard well this is harder and its harder because it takes skill unlike final fantasy 13 where you used auto attack to kill them and u ran out of monsters to kill so u were weak so u had to go back. anyway this game is great for experianced rpg players or people who like a hard game it would be off putting to anyone else thats why i gave it 4 star if there was an easy mode for new people i would have gave it 5 star apart from that its all good hope all that buy it enjoy it as much as i am

 Under-rated JRPG

This has been released very close to FF13 and has somewhat been overshadowed. It's unfortunate, because to me, this game is well worth your time and effort. It is difficult, and it lacks the polish FF13 provides, but this game holds a combat system like no other, eschewing fantasy and magic for more realistic, gun-heavy play. I've put in over 10 hours so far and i'm only on Chapter 2 (there are 16 chapters in total). Customisation of not only weapons, but characters too (the results of which appear in real-time during the cutscenes) give the game a nice personal touch. The story, whilst not wholly original or unique, is touching and very humorous (from what i've seen so far) - and it's nice that there aren't endless amounts of cutscenes to wade through. The combat action is very cinematic and MATRIX like, making the semi-real-time, turn based combat fast and frenetic.

Overall, a great game that will suck you in the more you play, with a combat system that is difficult to grasp at first, but near impossible to put down once your master the techniques needed to progress (you WILL die alot!).
