Review

Left 4 Dead 2 is the sequel to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed co-operative multiplayer smash from Valve. The title adds melee combat to the award-winning L4D style of play, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more. The setting is at roughly the same time as the original - just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new "Survivors," each with their own personality and new dialogue. The game leads these Survivors through the south-eastern region of the US - from Savannah, Georgia through the bayou country, and climaxing in New Orleans' French Quarter. Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more versus campaigns, maps for Survival Mode at launch, and more...

Buy this game if you enjoyed the first one. New weapons, infected and scenery gives it a fresh new look. The graphic seem to be better (the gore is too). However i haven't given it 5 stars because wading through water at a very slow pace through 2 of the campaigns gets very irritating and limits you to only wanting to play 3 of them.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Awesomeness . . .

I love this game almost as much as I loved L4D one - and I wasnt keen on the idea until I got persuaded to by L4D. Now, the game itself is some what longer - the chapters (on expert) as some what harder but the introduction of things like the defrib and melee weapons have added a whole new dimension to the team playing skills required to play this game effectively. Im not sure what i think to realism mode personally, but some hardcore gamers will appreciate it. I cannot wait for 'The Passing' DLC to come out as well as the retrospective chapter for L4D that is due. Let the good times ensue . . .

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Good ... but nothing special

When i heard of Left 4 Dead 2 being released i, as many others did, got excited but i feel a little let down by it. I don't know what it is about it but compared to the first game it just doesn't quite make the grade. Single player i feel is pointless on this game so if you don't have live then unless you have a friend that is willing to play this game until the early hours of the morning, then it's not a game worth getting but i felt that about the first game. All in all i'd still recommend this game to anyone thinking of buying it.
