This product was the sole reason I brought an XBox 360. Sure there aren't that many games for it at the moment but this has a huge potential to expand.
What I like about Kinect is that you have no controller so no batteries issues to worry about, except for the XBox 360 itself, and Kinect doesn't have any batteries either, it's straight from the USB port at the back.
The Voice recognision in Kinect nees a little bit of work to it, but I'm sure there will be updates for it at some point in 2011. Also the voice recognision works differently on the different games, Sonic Free Riders for example is a bit hit and miss.
The motion capture of Kinect is amazing, it works really well and the only problem I've had is to do one calibration test which is easy to do. It is also fairly easy to set up and instructions come with it if you do struggle.
The one thing I must stress with this product is that you do need room. In the adverts I have seen I have not seen a message saying you need 6ft of room for a player and up to 8ft of room for multiplayer. Ideally to buy this product make sure you have about a 6ft distance away from the telvision without moving any furniture so people don't have to move for you. I tried a multiplayer task on Kinect adventures and found there was little very room to move with my sofa next to us.
Other than the room issues this is a very good product and a must buy for XBox and non XBox owners. This is a revolution and has a huge potential to expand and become even better than what it is now.
