  Very Good

This product was the sole reason I brought an XBox 360. Sure there aren't that many games for it at the moment but this has a huge potential to expand.

What I like about Kinect is that you have no controller so no batteries issues to worry about, except for the XBox 360 itself, and Kinect doesn't have any batteries either, it's straight from the USB port at the back.

The Voice recognision in Kinect nees a little bit of work to it, but I'm sure there will be updates for it at some point in 2011. Also the voice recognision works differently on the different games, Sonic Free Riders for example is a bit hit and miss.

The motion capture of Kinect is amazing, it works really well and the only problem I've had is to do one calibration test which is easy to do. It is also fairly easy to set up and instructions come with it if you do struggle.

The one thing I must stress with this product is that you do need room. In the adverts I have seen I have not seen a message saying you need 6ft of room for a player and up to 8ft of room for multiplayer. Ideally to buy this product make sure you have about a 6ft distance away from the telvision without moving any furniture so people don't have to move for you. I tried a multiplayer task on Kinect adventures and found there was little very room to move with my sofa next to us.

Other than the room issues this is a very good product and a must buy for XBox and non XBox owners. This is a revolution and has a huge potential to expand and become even better than what it is now.

Calibrate correctly and it will work!

The kit its self is amazing although their is a minimum height recommendation of around 40 inches (1 meter / just over 3ft) so younger kids won't register correctly with the censor.

I keep seeing people talk about lag, I've not noticed any lag, in fact its very responsive but I think thats down to the fact that I took a little more time to make sure it was calibrated correctly. Our room lighting isn't bright, but it lights the place up and I imagine the lighting also has an affect on how responsive the device is.

If you've calibrated and lit your room but notice some lag, try closing the curtains because perhaps there is some other light affecting your Kinects sensor.

I thought more about how this could be better and some kind of button control for FPS and similar, perhaps a glove control like in Minority Report?

I'm impressed, I love the Wii and I'm an old school Mario fan, but this tops it. Joyride is comparable to Mario Kart.

I just hope there are a lot more innovations and games to come. :-)

After pre ordering and seeing the crazy pice tag (130 pounds) i was wondering what i was getting myself into, but after opening and setting it all up i can now see why it costs as much as it does! There's some decent games already out (kinect sports, dance central, kinectimals, your shape) but i think the best ones will be released next year, would have given it a 5 star rating if kinect sports came with it instead of adventures, dont get me wrong kinect adventures is a great game and shows off all the best bits from using Kinect but Kinect Sports is a must buy game for it- great family fun!
My advise would be if you have the space (6ft or 8ft for 2players) buy it!

I'm not reviewing the technology of Kinect, I'm just going to say how much FUN it is! In addition to the supplied Adventures games, we bought Kinect Sports and Dance Central and invited a few friends around to play it. There were seven of us, male, female, ages ranging from 23 to 61, some of whom had no previous interest in video games. It was an absolute hoot, everybody had a go. It's a long time since we all laughed together so much! It's definitely not just for children, it's for anybody who has an inner child and doesn't mind making a fool of themselves. Just get one and have fun.
