Vault 101 - Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

this game is brilliant, of course you have to like RPG's.
im still playing oblivion 3 years later and 150 hours into the game its so good, and fallout takes the similar game, updates the playability and graphics, and applies the new setting, just be prepared to lose weeks of your life!

Great for new buyers but a slap in the face for Fallout fans

This is a great deal for new players to one of the greatest games to be released on the 360 but is a complete slap in the face for fans of the series. I bought the special edition of this game on the day of release and love it. But why has the seperate DLC content not been reduced in price for existing owners of the game along side the release of the GOTY edition, I will now have to either purchase the GOTY to get all the DLC or buy them seperately for nearly the same price as the GOTY edition. a 5 star game 1 star for the way the DLC cost has been handled!!

             War... War never changes

Fallout 3 is a very special game. Utterly bleak and twisted, yet wonderfully charming, it's an open world RPG unlike any other you have ever experienced. It's a world that's both fantastic yet entirely believable, with a dreary, dark atmosphere, filled with dark humour. There are a plethora of brilliant political and social undertones, making Fallout an educational, as well as a truly fantastic experience.
The game of the year edition is a wonderful bargain. This beauty contains ALL of the five downloadable expansions released in the year after the original Fallout 3's release.
Each piece of DLC alone costs around 8 pounds, which determines that the DLC alone would cost 40 pounds. So for only 29.99 you're getting the incredibly vast and enjoyable original Fallout 3 story and the 5 pieces of DLC, which add around another 4-5 hours each of gameplay. It's an incomprehensibly detailed and profound landscape, with an immeasurable breadth of exploration. No matter how much I go on I could never do this game justice, so just press the buy button now.
It's a true monument to RPG's and I am eagerly anticipating Fallout: New Vegas with bated breath.

Pure class (but will take approx 20 hours to get into)

This game is outstanding. The sheer level of detail and customisation involved will bewilder you at the start and it will take you nearly 20 hours of play before you start to understand.
In terms of gameplay, it is like Oblivion, where you can just do the main quest or try and do a lot of the side-quest (which can be significant as well). Although, it is unlike Oblivion, as you have guns (lots of guns) and the VATS combat system is AWESOME.
If you are expecting lots of cut scenes, you will be dissappointed. Initially, you will have to explore the wasteland and find new places, which can get boring, but once you start interacting, and have lots of quests that you can undertake (and once you can fast travel to a lot of places) the game really takes off.
With the added content, this is a massive game, and very addicitive. If you stick with it, you will not be dissappointed.

Fantastic game but doesn't beat Oblivion.

Fallout 3 is a suberb game its big, there's lots to do and the story is awesome.

The game does take a little time to get into and is fairly challenging at the beginning as you have little weaponary and you character is very weak the game does pick up however after about 10 hours.

On paper its a better game than Oblivion however for all its glitches and bad acting I still prefer Oblivion just because of its charm.

All 5 Expansions together are a welcome addition however i wouldnt of bought them individually as they are all quite short.

If your a fan of Mass effect, Fable and Oblivion then buy this game.
