The year is 2027. The world as we know it is unraveling after fifteen years of economic meltdown and widespread global conflict over dwindling natural resources.

A once proud America has fallen, her infrastructure shattered and military in disarray. Crippled by a devastating EMP strike, the USA is powerless to resist the ever expanding occupation of a savage, nuclear armed Greater Korean Republic.

Abandoned by her former allies, the United States is a bleak landscape of walled towns and abandoned suburbs. This is a police state where high school stadiums have become detention centers, and shopping malls shelter armored attack vehicles. A once-free people are now prisoners... or collaborators... or revolutionaries.

Join the Resistance, stand united and fight for freedom against an overwhelming military force in Homefront's gripping single player campaign penned by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn). Stand alongside a cast of memorable characters as an emotional plot unfolds in this terrifyingly plausible near-future world. Experience visceral, cinematic first-person shooter action as you fight your way across Occupied USA using guerrilla tactics, and commandeer military vehicles and advanced drone technology to defeat the enemy.

Multiplayer brings epic warfare to the online arena as infantry, tanks, attack helicopters and combat drones battle across huge, open battlefields. A rich feature set offering layers of tactical depth combined with a game-changing innovation in the multiplayer space will set a new benchmark in online warfare.

  • Discover a terrifyingly plausible near-future world - The familiar has become alien in this nightmare vision of Occupied USA

Fight for a cause - Join a cast of memorable characters as your resistance cell wages a guerrilla war against overwhelming military odds in the name of Freedom

Witness the human cost of war - a gripping story from the pen of John Milius is told through immersive, interactive 1st person cut scenes

Experience explosive FPS gameplay - battle through a dynamic mix of infantry and vehicle combat in a gripping single player campaign boasting intense, memorable set pieces

Ugly visuals, looks dated when compared to many other modern FPS. Sloppy game play and level design, weapons handling is awkward and feels too rough coupled with very frustrating game play, majority of game is spent following AI team mates through simple corridor shooter levels. The shortest single player I have played to date, the end comes when it feels like things are just about to pick up. High point; flying the chopper level before the last. Low point first 2/3 of the game and do-or-die/mission fail objectives e.g. shoot marked targets only in time limit, catch vehicle before it leaves and shoot down chopper. NOTE: I have not played the multi-player but I dont expect anything ground breaking or measurably entertaining.

 Not too shabby

I would like to say this game is the nuts, but I can't. I completed the campaign in about 4 hours, not sure how Jonzeyinmexico (above) managed to do it in an hour. Although short the campaign is quite intense. Apart from the "Goliath" there are no other drones to utilise during the campaign either, unlike it's predecesser "Frontline-Fuel of War". The story could have been longer but lets be honest most of us are only interested in the ON-LINE gameplay anyway.
Online MULTIPLAYER - Again I can't understand what Jonzey is on about. I have had no trouble what so ever getting online. Like COD you can modify weapons with attatchments, camo etc but you also get to equip vehicles and drones, depending on how far up the ranks you are. My only gripe with the online multiplayer is that your opponents can seem a little small and very distant. Snipers seem to be totally invisible and miles away. That said I do enjoy the art of laying down, hidden and picking off targets, even though you may need to take 2 or 3 shots to eliminate them. That might be just because I'm new to game and not progressed that far.
In short it's 1 of those games you will either love or hate. Try it for a while BEFORE you make any rash decisions about it. I wasn't sure at first but now I'm really into it. Just need to get the kids off COD Black Ops to play it LOL

 Linear, uninspiring, drivel

I have followed the development of this game for some time and was very much looking forward to it coming out. The storyline, premise and plot seemed to be exactly what the FPS genre needed. I completed the game in 24hrs, and this was not playing it flat out. When the 'final' mission ended I stared incredulously at the screen and couldn't understand why that was the end of the game at all. The storyline is good to start off with but becomes very predictable early on. Graphics are not up to the standard I have come to expect and team AI is also lacking. Multiplayer, yeah that was ok (only ok however) for the short time that I could actually get a game, the vast majority of the time the server was not responding.

Overall I am massively disappointed to the extent that I received this game on Friday 18th and traded it in on Saturday 19th. Personally all those saying that this is a good game are deluding themselves. It is not.

 Its not COD but.....

Now im going to get it out of the way straight away, this isn't COD.I don't think any fps game is going to be able to topple cod as the all time best for many many years to come.Homefront is a decent title and plays pretty well,it isnt as sharp as cod and multiplayer feels a fair bit more cumbersome with the aiming and shooting, very much like Medal Of Honour. In fact if you have played MOH then this games very much like it gfx wise and play wise but I would say this is slighlty better.Depending on the map it is difficult to get out of your spawn if you get pinned back as even standard assault rifles shoot the full range of the map but theres a decent mix of open maps and others that are close combat with lots of closed cover. My main gripe with this game is the air support, most games somebody seems to get an apache helicopter and my god does it take half the world to bring it down whilst it happily rockets and guns you down withing seconds of spawning rinse and repeat, they also seem to stay for the entire game if you dont shoot it down but that may have just felt like that as i was getting chewed up.All in dont expect an open smallish map run an gun style game, this isnt that, theres a lot of cover, lots of rooftops and hidy holes for campers to sit in an pick u off if u not clever about using cover, run around on this game=dead, cover to cover is the name of the game.Pretty good game but i can see me ending up back on cod2 within a couple of weeks which is a shame as i was hoping for something fresh to grab my attention :(
