  Horrible battery quality

The docking station is a nice way to present your controllers, but the batteries only last a few weeks before they only last 1 hour of playtime! I purchased 2 charge docks, all 4 batteries died within weeks. Only purchase this if you want to present your controllers in the docking station, the batteries are worthless.

  pretty handy

Keeps my joypads neat - the mrs always moaned that they cluttered up the tv cabinet now they get stored and charge in a nice neat area - batteries dont last as long as genuine microsoft ones tho but its good enough!

  Avoid!!

Avoid buying this product, the batteries became unchargable in a very short period of time and had to be on constant charge to get any use out of the controller.

Bought it a while ago, One battery pack didn't work and the LED is way too bright.

  Fantastic product.

I can understand the seriously scathing reviews on here about Venom products. I bought a similar charge kit to the one I am reviewing, also made by Venom. It didn't come with the charge pod, simply two battery packs and a USB cable. I think it's still on sale on this site, I bought it last year from here. I would avoid that particular product at all costs. The battery packs seemed fine, but the USB was flimsy, cheap, and the connection snapped off as I was going to charge a battery.

I would, however, thoroughly recommend this product. For value for money's sake, it is fantastic. I have had this product a year or so, and the saving I must have made on conventional AA batteries must be through the roof. It comes with the charge pod, wired not by plug, but by USB (there is a USB port in the back of your xbox) and two battery packs. As long as you have one battery pack charging at all times, swapping them over and never having to wait around for them to charge up should never be a problem.

System is simple. There are two lights on the charge station. Red and green. Red beams constantly when charge is empty or low, red flashes when halfway, and green beams when battery is full and ready.

I could not recommend this product enough, you will save a fortune.

You get what you pay for

I can't, in good conscience, truly recommend this product. While I don't see it as a 1-star piece of kit it isn't worth much more.

Pros:
Lightweight (I don't see the cheap, light material as a bad thing in every product, sometimes it helps)
Charges when the machine isn't powered on

Cons:
False charge claims; many times I've removed the controller after being told it's fully charged only for it to last twenty minutes or so (I've since determined that one of the docks is faulty; a big issue within itself seeing as it's less than a year old

I am now back in the market for a charging station. I will look in the 25-40 pound market because I think this product is definitely a case of getting what you pay for. At under 15 pounds you can't expect much more and, hey, maybe you'll have better luck with yours lasting longer than six months or so.

  Not a worthy investment

The quality of this product is terrible. It feels flimsy and cheap. I have been using it for around 2 months now and at least for 1 of those months the batteries last no more than 2 days before they need swapping again. From the second day of owning this dock one of the charging docks stopped working and has never worked since. A waste of the 15 pounds I paid. I would urge anybody to look elsewhere for your controller power needs. Prior to owning this I had been using an official Microsoft rechargable battery with the charge wire and while that battery became unusable in the end it lasted years before that happened. I would recommend anyone to buy a play and charge kit - only the official one is worth it in my opinion. I have used 3rd party ones and they just aren't as good - or buy a good quality AA battery charger for around the same amount of money. This item is only going to disappoint you.

Got this when my play and charge kits were letting me down. I've been using it heavily for about 6 months, with one pad on it charging and the other on the sofa ready to go and it's been great!

  Buy it!

Great price, especially next to the XBOX's own. You can just play with one as the other is charging and the last for an excessive amount of time, Small and compact design, able to fit next to my TV and XBOX nicely as it plugs into the USB port. Had mine for about 3 months, not one major fault. Sometimes get electric shocks if you have wet hands on the back of the battery and it sometimes flickers on and off charging but I can live with these problems as the product itself is great! Get it now.
