Colin McRae: DiRT is set to be the most diverse and exhilarating off-road racing experience ever with sensational gravel, mud and dirt events the world over. Events will include the series' intense point-to-point races and then take players further off-road than ever before.

Race in challenging heavyweight 850bhp cars, drifting on the loose gravel and high-speed blind corners of Hill Climb events along perilous cliff edges. All 12.4 miles of the world famous Pikes Peak International is included, with over 150 precarious turns to negotiate through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

How about engaging in multiple car races with Dakar-style trucks and super-powered 4x4s on the toughest desert terrain in Rally Raid competitions? Then there are Rally Cross events, switching between dirt and road racing, where the competition is always tight, fast and collisions with your opponents are inevitable.

With more off-road racing styles to be revealed, Colin McRae: DiRT will also offer a dedicated mode for European, International and Global rally championships featuring official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars.

 A great ARCADE game

this game is fantastic for a pick up and race game, people should stop compareing it to FORZA there not there same type of racing game, forza is about realistic control, this is just relaxing and not worrying about skill, it's like comapring PGR and burnout. This game knocks the spots of saga rally (until i see the new saga rally anyway) and the damage control is beautiful, the graphis are supurb, the menu is totally originol the best i seen i a game for a long time, the onlt annoying thing is the guy who does the voice and also reseting the car when crashing, all in all a great game and one well worth the money for any 360 collection

Nowhere near as good as it should be

I have been a huge fan of the colin mcrae rally games over the years but this game does not play anywhere near as good as the others. I downloaded the xbox 360 demo and have to be honest and say that the gameplay if your using a wireless wheel is just awful!! very unrealistic handling for example I might as well of had ice cubes for tires, now this is a real shame because half of the fun of any racing game is using the force feedback wheel, I just hope that they release some kind of patch through xbox live to correct this issue in time. The graphics in HD are excellent which is a plus, but they do have a very annoying american voice which keeps talking throughout the game, this game could have done without that and if your gonna use any voice it should have been mcrae himself, overall it does not play well at all even with the gamepad its still not a fun game to play, it seems to me that the americans have made this game on the rep of a rally legend and not given much thought to what rallying is all about, Like I said I hope there is some sort of patch that is released before too long to sort the handling issues out, if they do I will get the game and put up with the annoying american voice, but if they dont sort something out I will leave this game alone and wait for sega rally which will be far superior as far as gameplay is concerned and thats what people buy games for, to have fun not to be annoyed and frustrated with playing this mcrae title.

 Rest in peace Colin.

This will be remembered as one of the last games to be made under the Colin McRae franchise since he was alive.
I've got fond memories of all the Colin McRae games, inspiring, realistic and fun.
Rest in peace Colin, you will be remembered as one of the greatest rally drivers ever.

 What is he on about?

"Iv always been a big fan of driving games, and played alot of gran turismo and Forza 2 for the 360 is really good. Dirt is MASSIVE let down if you like driving games because the handling of the cars is pathetic and feels like its been ripped straight from mario cart regardless of what surface your driving on. Looks absolutley stunning and the damage is impressive but i got bored of this after 10 minutes!! Too easy and no fun to drive. Far better off buying forza if you're looking for a proper driving game. If you want an arcade mess about give this a bash"

What is he actually on about? he obviously does not know the difference between gravel and mud, real of virtual. This game nearly masters offroad racing, the graphics are amazing, the damage physics are top knotch, and the racing/rallying, well unbeatable, this is the wrong game to compare to forza by far, forza is track racing, this is off road racing. The reason i havnt given this nearly flawless game 5 stars, is because it feels the physics have just been ported over from Toca Race Driver 3 on the off road stages(which dont get me wrong are amazing), just with a few improvements. Its a must by for any enthusiast, and a high recommendation for any1 who enjoys racing games.
Also its some kind of respect paid to the late colin McRae himself, one of the greatest men in motorsport to have lived, he will be missed.

Played the demo over and over and over! I'm so buying this when I have the money! This is definately not a Sim by the way, if your into that kinda stuff like Gran Turismo then I suggest you get Forza 2, this is just great arcade fun; like the Project Gotham games!
