Modern day fears come to life in a familiar, yet extraordinary setting: a small American town swarming with alien life. The government is desperate, struggling to contain secrets so terrible they can no longer be kept. Everything hinges on the action of Aeran Pierce, a former Special Forces assassin thrown into one of the most explosive moments in American history.

A Living, Breathing Squad: Your elite Special Forces squad, assembled from the fi nest soldiers in today's military, responds to your orders and your leadership in the most realistic in-game visuals imaginable. Lead your squad well and they'll rally behind you when the enemy brings the fight, but waver in the face of the enemy and their morale will sink accordingly, affecting their aim, their fatigue and the will to fight.

Online Multiplayer Modes: Players will have a wide variety of traditional online modes, such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture The Flag. All-new, unique modes will also be available in the form of Human vs. Reborn mode and the new Siege mode, where teams try to capture each other's squad members on the way to controlling territory.

Drive, Shoot and Ride: Drive the latest military HMMWVs, ATVs and commandeer civilian vehicles, or take a seat in the gunner's position in daring, low-level helicopter raids against enemy positions.

Unique One-Button Squad Command: As Squad Leader, you have the power, the authority and the duty to command your troops to perform a variety of complex actions, including planting C-4, sniping an enemy in the guard tower, or taking control of various vehicles. Players will also have the ability to control all squad commands with the press of a single button, without the hassle of clunky menus and/or multiple button taps.

Realistic, Fully Interactive Environments: In the ultimate mission-based, player-driven FPS game, take your Squad down any one of multiple paths to solve problems and defeat enemies. Strategically use cover points and blow away others in huge levels where nearly everything you see is destructible.

         Just doesn't cut it

Like many people have been saying this game is just really average & mediocre. The storyline is extremely weak & almost pointless with characters that are just irritating & equally as pointless. The enemies are pretty boring once you've seen them all and don't really seem to have any introductions to the game; they just sort of 'appear' as if they have no significance. The weaponry isn't terrible but does have room for improvement. One of the most disapointing things about Blacksite is that when I first saw it I was expecting a scary, tension building blockbuster that would concentrate on all the small details, but alas- the game is just very shallow and about as frightening as the box it comes in. The fact that it's a 'squad based' shooter is a lie, you can hardly control your squad at all, and when you do it's only move them to a certain place (which they don't do anyway) or 'attempt' to kill an enemy. I would say THE most disapointing thing about the game is the fact they took away the co-op which might have made it bearable (so you could suffer WITH a friend.) As for multiplayer, it isn't the best by any means but it can be ok in places excluding the lag & lack of players. I would say the best part about this is the occassional, slightly engaging battles you have with enemies. One more complaint; IT'S FULL OF GLITCHES AND BUGS!!! Really not worth £40, maybe £25 in the sale but even then...

        Top 100 Games Reviewer

Title says it all. A average shooter that stands no chance against the likes of cod4, halo, RSV etc etc. The best part is the story which is actually pretty good and single player is not to bad. Other than that not much is to good tbh. Weapons are a let down, as is the multiplayer side of it. If you can find enough people to get a game(doubtfull) you are greeted with lacklustre maps, graphics and Lag!!
Sorry but this game is not worth £40. If you are thinking of a purchase, wait till the price drops.

         Really bad shooter

This games is absolutely god awful. Compared to the likes of
Call of Duty 4 and other such games it just doesnt stand up. There are glitches EVERYWHERE, including enemy guns floating in mid air, the loading screens run into the game, Poor A.I. and what really wound me up was the mark left behind after killing one of those fire brutes....
the burnt out tarmac, which like the guns, was also floating. All i can say is, thank god i only paid £20 for this game, i can assure you i will be trading it in promptly.
