My favorite game of all time. Ideal for FF players.

My absolute favorite game. The graphics leave a lot to be desired, and the battles are turn-based, but get past that and you find a game with an amazing storyline and hours of gameplay. I think it's rated with about 50 hours of gameplay. May not be well known, and the gaming engines are very mediocre, but the storyline is ideal for Final Fantasy players. If you love FF, you will die for this game. Definitely worth buying this game and digging your old GameCube out of the attic.

Should be redone on next-gen consoles.

Superb Traditional RPG but won't Convert Anyone to the Genre

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

An 'enhanced' port of the original Dreamcast game Skies of Arcadia: Legends remains one of the best RPGs available on consoles. Set in a world of islands that float amongst the clouds the player takes on the role of sky pirate Vyse. Initially setting out to loot a band of less likable pirates you soon discover more than you bargained for and thus is set in motion a plot that will take well in excess of thirty hours to complete.

Most of what Skies of Arcadia does is fairly traditional. Side quests can be discovered through exploration, turn-based battles use a mixture of weapon based attacks and magic and levelling up is crucial if you are to defeat the games bosses. Everything is done with such charm and assurance however to ensure that the majority of RPG fans will be hooked from the start.

 Fantastic escapism

As a long time player of JRPGs this game really stands out as a jewel! A fresh setting(the sky!) with a well drawn cast(of sky pirates!) and above all else a compelling and involving story makes this one of the best GameCube RPGs. Highly recommended
