Turtle Beach Ear Force X41 Wireless Headset

After reading many many reviews on other sites i thought id put my own on here:-
In a word, awesome. These headphones bring out so many sounds that you'd never hear through your standard TV or 5.1/7.1 surround sound setup at home. Theres something moving on ur left, you'll damn sure hear it on your left!
If you've read other reviews, you'll of read about a slight 'hissing' sound coming from them. Yes, there is. But i've only noticed it when im on the Xbox dashboard. Basically, if whatever your doing on the xbox360 does not produce a single note of sound, then there is the tiniest of hisses- which is to be expected, its impossible to wirelessly send silence.
Easy to set up, ive got my Xbox360, Ipod AND PS2 hooked up to it (there are a couple of red+white sound connectors on the back so why not?lol) and the sound is amazing. Alot smaller then i thought it would be as well.

If your not playing a game which is 7.1 ((so not Halo ODST of COD4MW2) as this is what these speakers are intended for) dont worry, it will still quite happily play at 5.1 and still sound amazing.
It may seem quite pricey, but if you love your gaming, hate people being asleep whilst your gaming, and hell, generally love music (i had these on whilst cleaning with the Ipod attatched) then buy them.

Had these just over a week now.Excellent 7.1 Dolby Digital (DD)surround sound when you connect direct to an Xbox RCA Optical Lead.If you connect instead to the "TV Optical Out", to watch TV when the Xbox is Off you only get Dolby Pro-Logic II (DPLII) for Gaming or TV programmes (Xbox doesn't pass on 5.1 through the HDMI Lead). So to get the full 7.1 DD you definitely need to connect to an Xbox RCA Optical Lead directly. Then though no TV sound unless you keep swapping the Optical Lead from Xbox to "TV Optical Out". Unless you do it by Analogue Phono on the X41 and your TV, but most TV's don't have "Analogue Out" (and again DPLII for gaming not 7.1 DD). So you might need a "Optical to Analogue Converter". The X41's have Optical as main source then when this is Off , Analogue.
Just a heads up for those that want TV and Xbox with out the constant need for Unplugging the supplied Optical lead.

After a long time I finally managed to get my hands on these, and it was well worth the wait.

Set up in under 60 secs and immediately noticed sounds in the xbox live dashboard I had never heard before.

Once I started gaming with them it was hard to believe there was so many sounds I never notice or heard before, they deliver superb sound and absolutely help pin point sounds ie gun fire, planes, choppers and footsteps ect - 1st 3 games I played on MW2 I came top, coincidence? Doubtful !

Anyone that requires 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound should defiantly consider this as a alternative option.

Are they worth the money? Well considering how much a game cost and how long some of the last, I feel these offer a great value for money.

I can hear things that I did not notice before, especially in games such as Modern Warfare ( air conditioning fans, flies buzzing, water dripping etc ).
They also give a good sense of distance and direction of sounds.
A nice touch is a second headphone out socket which allows another person to listen in while you shoot zombie nazies.

Had these headphones for just over a week now and can't fault them at all for quality. Very easy to setup, sound is amazing, improvement in xbox live chat (at both ends) and so far I've had no problems with the batteries, must have managed at least 20 hours without them dying on me.
