4.5 Genuinely Brilliant ajt123 | 26/08/2011 | See all ajt123's reviews (4) This is such an addictive game. It never appealed to me at first, but honestly, it's the most fun you'll ever have on a console game.Unlike many other FPS or RPG's, it never takes itself too seriously or tries too hard- which I find ruins many games. This shows in the cartoony graphics, downright absurd characters and frankly ridiculous weapons (which there are millions of).The actual gameplay is very simple; you get to pick one of four characters, each with their own abilities and specialties. You follow the story, either in single player, or up to 4 player co-op, and it's surprisingly lengthy (especially with the 4 DLC's installed), leveling up your to 50 (or 61 with 'Secret Armory') along the way, in order to access the 'Vault'.This leads me onto my only major problem with the story- the 'Vault'. All the way through the game, you are promised amazing loot and weapons from the 'Vault'. However, by the time you kill the last boss, you find that these 'amazing' weapons aren't usually as good as the one you threw away for the weapon you completed the game with. The only other problems I can think of are very tiny, occasional glitches, which I think says a lot about Borderlands. So, if you haven't already played it, buy it, love it and wait for Borderlands 2.
