So many superlatives have been heaped upon this game, it's easy to come at it with expectations it couldn't possibly meet, but Bayonetta is one of a select few that warrants it, without exception. Devil May Cry is the model here, the most revolutionary action game of the last generation (no DMC, no God Of War or any other adrenaline-fuelled actioner, simple as). If you've played DMC 3, then you'll know how insane its cutscenes were--if anything, they actually stole the show. Well, Bayonetta doesn't just let you watch, it lets you PLAY such moments. And there are oh so many of them. Literally dance on the ceiling, fight your way down the side of a skyscraper, take a joyride on a rocket, and ride a motorcycle into the heavens, to name just a few. This game never peaks, Kamiya's imagination runs rampant from start to finish, and raises the bar for any titles that come afterward, maybe too high, to be honest. There are many nods to Devil May Cry, both in script and artistry, and even a charming but understated nod to the beautiful game that so few bought, Okami. This game has an intense focus on entertaining you, but it will test your skills. We're not talking Ninja Gaiden 2 here, but definitely a match for DMC 3's notoriously high difficulty, though there are two Easy difficulties on Bayonetta for gamers yet to hone their skills--though the Automatic technique utility those levels employ may seem a bit patronising. The story, initially seeming a mess, gradually gains focus and intrigue, but always with its tongue firmly in its cheek. Suffice to say, you'll be rooting for Bayonetta by the end, and be grinning from ear to ear. Old-school in structure, ground-breaking in execution, and vivid in imagery, Bayonetta marries the thrill and challenge of retro titles (and it nods to them, as well, it must be said), with the easy accessibility of modern games, and layers it all with hilariously OTT violence and sexuality (though the latter never explicitly). I just hope the damn thing gets a sequel, and you probably will too! The theme tune is Fly Me To The Moon (Evangelion fans should recognise that), and rightly so, because this title most definitely takes you for a trip there!

 WOW!!!

This game is amazing, Bayonetta is one of the sexiest heroines to grace our games consoles since Lara croft! The graphics are brilliant, the scenery lush and the executions deadly! This is a must buy for any Fan of Resident Evil/Devil May Cry fan, and defo worth the 40 pound price tag. GO OUT AND GET OT NOW!!!

Well well! Bayonetta...... Its here. And will this game live up to the hype and great reviews? The straight answer to that question is HELL YEAH!!!!!! 10/10 Without a doubt! The developers of this game can give themselves a massive pat on the back indeed!
Bayonetta is super-fast paced, graphics are perfect and so painfully addictive! Its as the heading suggests "up there with the best of em". The combat is so so good and you get a real sense of satisfaction in pulling off a killer torture attack or summoning some sort of devil spawn.....with your magic hair of course! (The wicked weave). Great characters and some of the most weirdly wonderful bosses you are ever likely to smash back to the gods!!!
I only write reviews if a game is THAT GOOD. And Bayonetta is exactly that. So do it! Click buy! You wont be disappointed!

 Game of the year

Okay, So I've been reading some other reviews but i think they are hitting the hammer way to hard on the "Story line not making sense aspect" i think you must of either been playing the game on mute or just been utter stupid not to understand the story line. Forgive me If you havnt completed it but there is No reason to "Not" Understand the storyline.

So, What is Bayonetta? Well its a hack and Slash game made by SEGA in which it takes place in the future and you play as this Umbra Which called Bayonetta. As i said before she is an "Umbra Wtich" the Umbra Witches have a rival clan called the Lumen Sages. The Main plot in the game is you as the player have to figure out who Bayonetta is because she has just woken upp from "Deep Sleep" So you will be going round trying to remember bits of your past.

Whats the gameplay like? As it's a hack and slash genre the game will require you to use some good 'ol button mashing skills and im serious about the "Skils" part , for instance if you play on Normal "Which i would recomend" there are countless combos you can rack up to increase your score and earn medals, Stone being the worst and pure platinum being the best.

How Long is the Story? After completing the game and watching the brilliantly rendered CG footage of bayonetta's dance video i checked the play time and it was a suprising 10 hours , not a lot but for a hack and slash with a hell of a lot of replay value bayonetta is definatly worth your money

Because of this I would easily put money on this being game of the year, because the games we have in stall for the future arn't looking anywhere asgood as Bayonetta bar some hit and miss im expecting from Mass Effect2, Bioshock 2, Alan Wake , Splinter cell and got help me Another Call of Bleeding Duty

hope you found this Usefull and Enjoy Bayonetta
