Dead Space 2

I loved the first game and now that I'm a little over half way through the second I can happily say I think this is even better.

The quality of the graphics, sound and story just add that extra bit of atmosphere and immersion.

Everything that was great about the first has been retained and with some improvements in other areas, including the game length, slightly longer than the original with more variety with some outstanding set-pieces.

I really hope this sells well or we'll end up with nothing but FPS like COD etc as they seem to make the big sales.

Anyone who liked the original will not be disappointed, anyone else who has an interest in Sci-Fi/Horror or 3rd Person Shooters will also enjoy.

Just remember to turn the lights off and put the volume up!

Ps. Would recommend playing on at least Normal if not higher difficulty.

Everything that made Dead Space the horror/shooter/sci-fi success that it was returns in this emphatic sequel. The action is brutal, the graphics are stunning, the plotline is gripping and the tension is palpable. I put this into my machine as soon as I got home after Uni and sat down in the dark for another epic Dead Space experience. I wasn't disappointed. The action is far more frequent and terrifying than the first game, but it hasn't turned into a run-and-gun experience at all. In fact, with the new plotline, Dead Space 2 is twice the tense, terrifying, suspenseful survival game it's predecessor was. If you enjoyed Dead Space then you simply must have the sequel.

Aliens meets Dawn of the Dead meets Pandorum. You will need new trousers. Isaac is back, and he's better than ever! Why are you still reading this review? Buy it and see for yourself! You will never look back... Unless you're checking for Necromorphs that is.

I don't quite know what that person a few reviews below is on about with the games difficulty, its exactly the same as the first! I have been looking forward to this game for some time now and I have to say it completely blew my mind! In all honesty I thought playing the first one I won't be a sucker for the unexpected jumpy bits but I was wrong. This is just as scary as the first and my heart hasn't stopped beating while playing it! This is one of the sequels I have ever played and I absolutely love it! I would have payed more if I knew it was going to be this good ;)

Not many people bought the original Dead Space game, which is a shame as it easily knocked Resident Evil off it's pedastal with it's brilliant mix of horror and action. Dead Space 2 expands on this and more. This is the perfect game for horror fans!

It takes place 3 years after the first game on a gigantic spacestation called 'The Sprawl'. The alien necromorphs have once again attacked and it's up to Isaac Clarke to stop them. However, Isaac is not only battling the aliens this time, he's also battling with himself- Isaac is now suffering from dementia following the events of the first game and frequently has hallucinations throughout the game. Needless to say, it all makes for an extremely disturbing experience.

I won't go into the storyline anymore, you really do need to experience it yourself, it's stunning. As for the gameplay itself, there's really nothing to complain about. Controlling Isaac feels even more fluid than it did in the first game, and he now has several new abilities and weapons up his sleeve. Remember the kinesis ability from Dead Space? You can now use this to rip the limbs from dead necromorphs and hurl them at your enemies, impaling them. It certainly helps to save ammo, especially on the higher difficulties!

While I'm on the subject of difficulty, it should be noted that in order to have the perfect Dead Space experience, you should first play through on Survivalist mode. There are four difficulties- casual, normal, survivalist and zealot. Plus, once you finish the game, you unlock hardcore mode. I'll let you find out for yourselves what that's like. It seems normal difficulty has been toned down a bit this time round, to allow for more accessibilty, but you really need to start the game on survivalist mode, otherwise the scares simply won't have the same effect.

All in all, this is an amazing game. If you enjoyed the first one, it should be a no-brainer. Pick this up! Even if you didn't play the first game, there is an introductory film to let you catch up on the events of Dead Space. There is simply no excuse not to buy it. One word of warning though- you may develop a slight fear of needles after finishing it...

This game for me took me a good 20 hours to finish on hard i enjoyed staying up late at night engrossed in the hell that is dead space!
The weapons are truely out of this world as they were in the original the controls are smooth and fluid..You can almost feel the blood that comes out of each necromorph as you stomp its ass dead (never gets old) all i can say about this game is that it had me wondering whats round each corner and the AI was bob on as they skulk and hide from you before pouncing on you unannounced and in suprise not just there when u get in the room so u have time to plan your attack its horrific in parts that must push the boundries of gaming and horror which hence the 18 cert!
not for the faint hearted ..oh yea.. once u complete it dont think for a second thats it... oh no.. no sir eeeeee ill just say that and leave u with the cool suprise and am not on about the multiplayer !! enjoy the new game+ hahaha u better run necromorph SKUM!
There has been alot of proper work and design put into this game and a game that should keep on making a comeback over years .. and at this price drop what the hell you doing reading this GO AND GET IT!!
