In Enslaved you take on the role of Monkey a strong, brutish loner who has been captured on a mysterious slave ship 150 years into the future. War and destruction have left the world in ruins and you are one of only a few humans left. On the slave ship you encounter Trip - a beautiful, tech-savvy young woman who is also at the mercy of her captors.

Trip is anxious to escape so she can make her way back home, but she knows she can't do it alone. She has the brains, but not the brawn - you, as Monkey are her ticket to freedom. You soon become Enslaved by Trip - bonded together by a slave headband. If you stray, you will be paralyzed by excruciating pain. If your stay, your fate is in her hands. In both cases, your freedom is no longer your own...

Character Bios:

Monkey - Andy Serkis
Based on the legend of Monkey, this acrobatic powerhouse is capable of devastating enemies with a mixture of close range attacks and plasma or stun blasts with his telescopic staff. His cloud device allows him to navigate over difficult terrain.

Trip - Lindsey Shaw
The tech-savvy Trip can re-purpose technology to help Monkey traverse perilous landscapes. She can cause distractions, scan enemies and areas and also upgrade Monkey's abilities.

Pigsy - Richard Ridings
A family friend of Trip's, Pigsy has an unhealthy obsession with women. He's an expert at salvage and a mechanical genius and his jealousy of Monkey and Trip produces some comedic banter.

The Mechs
Dormant mechs are scattered throughout a battered world, remnants of a war fought over a hundred years ago. These mechanical monstrosities vary in size and purpose from the easily dispatched models Monkey encounters early in the game to colossal, animatronic behemoths which require the player to consider strategically before engaging.

  • A Cinematic Masterpiece - Featuring dramatic cutscenes co-directed by Andy Serkis, (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) who also plays the lead role of Monkey, portraying critical events that drive the story of Monkey and Trip
  • Stunning Environments - Explore a beautiful, eerie world of war-ravaged cityscapes that have been reclaimed by nature and are fraught with danger at every turn
  • Tactical Gameplay - Think on your feet! Survey the environment, work together with Trip and choose your path to battle through the perilous environmental and deadly enemy obstacles that await
  • Engaging Storyline - Play through an original story co-written by famed novelist and screenwriter, Alex Garland, (The Beach, 28 Days Later) - loosely inspired by the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West," experience the evolving relationship between Monkey and Trip through their plight for survival
  • Dynamic Combat System - Attack and defend with agile prowess using a combination of melee attacks, blocks and intense takedowns which allow Monkey to overtake an enemy to steal its weapon for his own use, rip the enemy apart piece by piece or destroy it in one satisfying final blow

Been playing this game for weeks now and still enjoying it on the third playthrough. It's a breath of fresh air to find a gem like this in a world of shoot em ups, the graphics are beautiful and the storyline is the best for a while, taken from an old japanese book apparently.

The gameplay can be repetitive but still remains satisfying, as others have said this is a very addictive game with short snappy checkpoints to keep you hooked.

17 pound is a steal for a game as great as this, a must buy!

 Pretty neat game! (Demo)

I've now played the demo and I have to say, I was not expecting it to be all that good. It's just brilliant! And the storyline is original and very interesting. It's made me want to buy it to see how the story panes out.

It's got impressive climbing mechanics in the game, smooth, quick and reliable. But for me, this game really shines on the combat mechanics. Theirs no messing around on this game when it comes to combat moves, their just slick and have a real-nice feel to them. The weapon is kinda like a Star Wars Lightsaber, except its a lot better.

Best way to describe this game, its like Uncharted but with much more of an interesting storyline, and without the guns. I would say; I'm more of a fan of shooting based games, so for me to like Melee games like this, it has to be great. A MUST BUY!

 It is a Masterpiece

This game is brilliant, the graphics are beautiful and so is the landscape, everything in the game is stunning. The combat system works really well and the free running (climbing the walls, swinging from ledges and buildings) is great and is really easy to do. This game must be played. 10/10

Story-- One of the best in a game for some time.
Game play--Fun simple and entertaining
Graphics--Top notch
Difficulty--Easy (On normal mode)
Length-- 10-12 hours

Cons- There are a few camera issues during combat and some might find the platforming to simplistic.

On the whole a solid game which I couldn't put down until I finished it I strongly recommend it
