L.A. Noire

cant not rate this highly enough, at the same time i can not understand how people can slate this game, give it a chance and you will love this game, simply put it is the best game ive ever played :-)

thought it was amazing, very good story becomes very addictive, is worth the money.

It's incredibly interactive. I randomly walked into a cafe sat down by pressing Y and my partner sat opposite me. And all I did was press X and we'll start talking about a case. Outside the cafe I was in it was raining and you can hear the rain running down the windows as well as seeing it . Such brilliant graphics and sound-effects. And the facial animation is amazing.

As for the detective side of the game its the best out there in terms of detective work. So indepth! At times it can get repetitive but that doesn't mean its a bad thing; having to do the same process with collecting evidence, avoids frustration. There are 40 side missions were you respond to dispatch by pressing A whilst driving along, thats quite a lot of missions bearing in mind that is 40 completely unique side missions which we'll keep you busy for hours.

The whole concept of going Detective instead of being a criminal doing as you want around a city was a pretty risky approach to introduce to the gaming market. But they've succeeded very well, simply because it is Rockstar and they are always setting a very high standard, no matter what concept they choose to create in their open-world games.. So role on GTA5!

Noire is a crime thriller that seamlessly blends crime-solving, clue-finding, car chases and shoot-outs with revolutionary new interrogation-based gameplay that will allow players to read characters' emotions in order to reveal the truth. Players will take on the role of Cole Phelps, a decorated war veteran, who rises through the ranks of the LAPD by solving a series of gruesome murders and other crimes that bring him face-to-face with the dark heart of Los Angeles during Hollywood's Golden Age

This is a game you will probably not like for it's gameplay, but the initial storyline, next-gen facial expressions and the beauty of the world somewhat make up for it. In terms of free-roam, the player has alot less to do. Previous Rockstar games have given much more minigames and activities that the player can take part in and enjoy, while in this the player is very limited.

Seriously, I do not get the hype and the reviews for this game. So montonous, ok the graphics are great but the game is absolute pants! The video sequences you cant skip so if you've seen it before then you have to sit through again, the interregation is useless, have to start again if you get it wrong and the gameplay is all the same. Drive car, chase someone interregate blah blah blah. Finished it and sold it straight away, so disappointed cant wait for MW3.

L.A.Noire's main strenght is the facial technology which allows the characters to have realistic expressions. Questioning suspects and trying to tell if they are lying by watching their movements and expressions are the best parts of the game. The rest of the gameplay is made up of shootouts, on foot chases, and car chases. The shooting parts of the game are very average compared to other games and on foot chases are poor, only the car chases are much fun. The 50's L.A setting is very impressive and the game is quite long although it does get a bit repetitive. Overall this game is good but not great.

LA Noire is a new breed of gaming and requires thought in solving the cases as well as chasing down wanted people. I believe there is a real future in this type of gaming as Rockstar's gaming team are the first in doing so. Please buy this game and see for yourself. (everything in life is repetitive eventually so please do not slate the game in that text) :) Keep it real folks...

And third, the interrogation was really original. I liked it! But I was hoping for more action. The action scenes that you cross in the game was too easy to handle. The criminals intelligence seems a bit low. But sure, it is fun to chase a guy through the alley at times, but as many other things - it got repeated to often. Same thing over and over. Anyway I recommend everyone to try it out. It really seperates it self from any other game on the market.
