I usually despise games like Tomb Raider for the pointless puzzles and the slaving away for 2-3 minutes climbing a rock-face before falling off through no fault of your own, simply because the camera didn't show the ledge area you needed to jump to. I always felt like I must have been missing something because a lot of people loved playing that series.
Prince of Persia takes all the best bits of a puzzle/adventure game, throws in some awesome visuals, adds a pretty slick (if simple) combat system and drops it into the famous Prince of Persia universe.
This game, whilst staying away from a direct story/character tie to the Disney movie is a massive amount of fun. It feels like a really great balance between puzzle solving and action which keeps you glued in a 'just one more level' kind of way. The level transition is seamless and the story just keeps rolling along. Whilst a little cliche in the script area, new powers are awarded to your character as you progress which are explained through the story telling, keeping things new and fresh and demanding different, more intelligent solutions to familiar traps. It gives the overall impression that the developers really thought about this game.
My personal preference is usually first person shooters but this game was so much fun it was enough to lure me away from my favourite genre. I can definitely see me returning to this game in the future.
Final note - don't buy this expecting to play through a copy of the movie, I don't think Disney was involved in making this game but that only seems to have ensured a top quality game was made without the typical big movie studio interference! Top marks Ubisoft.

 Must Buy

One of my favourite games for the 360 people, just ordered the collectors edition, easy achievements but have to play the game twice to get the other ones if you wan't 1.000 out of 1.000, such a well made game and quick to get into, i wish that more games for the xbox were out like this, i could play this game over and over again, total completion for the game for me was roughly over 3 hours 2nd go, must buy people and specially for this price, thanks play.com looking forward to my collectors edition arriving,

One of the best games in 2010 so far

Having played most of the big games that have been release in 2010, I can honestly say that this is one of the best. I got it on a lend from a friend a I wasn't sure of it after 2008's Prince of Persia game. I enjoyed it from the very first moment, I stuck it into my disc tray. The story is really strong and the ending is epic. The action never lets down as well as the platforming. There is a lot of puzzles in this game so you will have to use your mind when it comes to solving them. The achievements in this game are pretty simple. I was able to obtain 36 of 40 (850G) in my first playthrough. The boss fights are awesome too, although, they do get rather simple when you start upgrading you powers. There is also a code to get Prince of Persia classic on the Xbox Live Arcade for free on the collector's edition. Also included on the bonus disc are skins, wallpapers, videos and more. Like, Dante's Inferno, there is a mode when you complete it where you have to fend off hordes of enemies. I highly recommend it to fans of the older Prince of Persia or Assassin's Creed games. If you didn't like 2008 Prince of Persia and are unsure whether or not to get The Forgotten Sands, just get it! You will not be disappointed!

 Great Graphics, Gamplay too short

Everyone is making this game to be the biggest hit of 2010 and they aren't wrong graphics wise but the game is too focused on the graphics that they lack the greatness of what makes it a prince of persia game which is the length of it and the difficulty i got this game just a few days ago completed it in less than 24 hours and then completed it again in even less time due to the fact the first time i played it it was on the hardest difficulty setting you can get and im working on gettin all the achievments which i only have 7 or 6 to go so not really a good choice if your after a game that will take a while to complete but perfect if you want a game built around the graphics

 Best game deal ever!!!
