I always felt like I must have been missing something because a lot of people loved playing that series.Prince of Persia takes all the best bits of a puzzle/adventure game, throws in some awesome visuals, adds a pretty slick (if simple) combat system and drops it into the famous Prince of Persia universe. This game, whilst staying away from a direct story/character tie to the Disney movie is a massive amount of fun. It feels like a really great balance between puzzle solving and action which keeps you glued in a 'just one more level' kind of way. The level transition is seamless and the story just keeps rolling along. Whilst a little cliche in the script area, new powers are awarded to your character as you progress which are explained through the story telling, keeping things new and fresh and demanding different, more intelligent solutions to familiar traps. It gives the overall impression that the developers really thought about this game.My personal preference is usually first person shooters but this game was so much fun it was enough to lure me away from my favourite genre. I can definitely see me returning to this game in the future.Final note - don't buy this expecting to play through a copy of the movie, I don't think Disney was involved in making this game but that only seems to have ensured a top quality game was made without the typical big movie studio interference! Top marks Ubisoft.
