Sonic the Hedgehog in 2010 had a great year and a much needed comeback for the fastest thing alive, Sonic Colours on Wii , people calling it the best sonic game in 10 years, Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing some saying its better than Mario Kart , finally a return to 2D with Sonic the Hedgehog 4. And then this monstrosity happened.
Now Ill give Sega props that this was their 1st Kinect game and concept works for it, the same could NOT be said for the execution.
The gameplay is flat out broken, the menus are frustratingly annoying, the voice commands dont work and the design is flawed.
My biggest gripe , which with a Kinect game should be the gameplay , nothing works the way you want it to, I kept slamming into walls , I couldnt understand it and I wouldnt call myself the best at racing games but I keep coming last place and Ive tried variations in how I play.
2 players have you holding hands, I did that with my girlfriend and we kept head butting each other. One mode has you reaching out for rings to boost your speed but guess what, you slam into a way when you try.
If you can find some way to play this game as well as enjoy it, more power to you but for now Im going to stick with the best game the Kinect currently has to offer Dance Central.
As I stated the concept works for it and its gained my attention for future releases and for the record, its not the worst game out for the Kinect.
Finally Im glad to see Sonic making a overdue comeback.
My son is trying to play the game and is getting very annoyed because he goes into the menu during a race without wanting to. Also, its impossible to navigate through the menu. With regards to controlling the characters, in order to turn a corner you have to really bend back and forth which gets very tiring.
so much fun to play even with 2 players agree one of the best games out for kinect at the moment
This game was so much fun I loved it once i got the hand of it.
This is the best racer out for the moment on the kinect definitely the xbox 360s version of Mario Kart. If you dont believe me go to your xbox market and download the demo now and try it for yourself
Not sure why this game had been receiving bad reviews, i love it
All earlier reviews seem to hate the controls and kinects inability to sense a person side on, but i havent really had any issue, so i think this issue may have been fixed through a software update.
Different tracks are all great, each has different routes etc, often depending on your jumping skills (not kidding) however there arent many of them, but your not going to manage to play this game for hours on end in one sitting ( unless your laughing at friends and family) so it doesnt make the game too repetitive.
The weapons are all fun, and controls are pretty intuitive, also swimming, jet skiing etc add an extra level to the game. and you can upgrade your board etc, so lots of fun aspects
Must have for anyone who has a kinect
