this game looks really fun and interesting as it promises a choice 10 great sports. however this game is practically impossible to play. the menus are really difficult to use and it doesn't really pick up any movements at all even once you have calibrated the kinect sensor.

Bad, bad not meaning good.
very unresponsive, terrible camera angles. I can think of so many things wrong with this game..
Could not have been play tested much, at least not with a Kinect attached.

  Not bad, understanding required

This isnt as bad as people are making out, yes the graphics are poor. But this is a fun game with kids in mind.
As regards to the tennis, this will work if you stand around 8 feet or more away from the sensor, although I havent got that sort of room in my house. The tennis revolves on timing - if you are too early with your move it wont work, if you are too late with the move it too wont work.

Buy this game if you have room - tennis is quite good with space in your house

I had the same problem as the people below, I found my problem was due to the sensor being too high... after lowering the bar it was picking my moves up fine.

Sports Island Freedom - Avoid this!

Completely agree with everything previous review says......

Bought this game as I thought it would be really good, with a choice of 10 different sports. The tennis is absolutely unplayable, no matter what movements you do, the game just does not respond, but just stands there while the ball flies past or bounces off your head.

The cursor thing for menu's is soooo true too, waving about like a madman trying to select the option, as you cant see where your hand is unless your over the option button.

The other games, although they work (unlike tennis) were very disappointing really, with average graphics considering the possibilities of the 360.

All in all, was looking forward to playing this, only to be really let down, and ended up trading it in 2 days later.

Kinect Sports Island Freedom - Terrible Game

Bought this as an impulse buy & boy do i regret it, I have played several Kinect games & this is by far the worst one that i have tried. Presentation is sloppy, graphics are average at best but all this could easily be forgiven if the gameplay was good but it's not.

Trying to play a game of tennis only to be stood there swinging your arms as the ball just flies past you & your avatar either just stands there or for some inexplicable reason decides to duck.

Another problem comes when trying to navigate the menus, with every other kinect game i've played you have an onscreen cursor/hand that stays there when you are moving through the screens but for some reason this one only shows the cursor when you are right on top of the button you want to press so you end up guessing where you have to hold your hand & 9 times out of 10 you'll end up selecting the wrong option.

This game really feels like it has been rushed out to cash in on the fact that there aren't many kinect games available right now. If you do want to play it i would strongly advise a rental first or to wait for the price to drop below 15 pound as it is seriously not worth 30+
