This game stole hours from my life

I'm pretty sure you could play Skyrim forever and never get sick of it. Everything about this game is awesome, with perhaps one small thing: battles are only smashing the trigger buttons. Other than that, everything in this game is fun; so much so that you don't even notice the fact that the battle system is only pretty good.

I put it down for over a year and picked it up and got right back into it. They added some things, like the ability to level up to Legendary levels (upwards of 100) and other neat stuff. This game is eternal.

  between boredom and exploration

The Good:
1. huge open-world to explore
2. numerous ways to customize your character's skills
3. can learn a trade, buy houses and horses, marry etc
4. the graphics of the natural environments are impressive
5. an abundancy of side-quests

The Bad:
1. none of the characters in the game have any depth and personality
2. the storyline is unengaging and uninteresting
3. the companion AI is quite dumb
4. the game crashed every three hours or so
5. a bug prevented me from completing one of the major quest chains
6. there are many glitches in the game
7. the graphics of people's faces shows little improvement since Oblivion
8. every dungeon map looks the same
9. the combat system is clumsy and tedious, where you constantly need to switch between menus and submenus

Bottomline: if you want an RPG where the characters have a reasonable degree of personality and where the storyline truly engages you, then Skyrim is not the game for you. If you just want a huge open-world to explore and interact with then you'll like it a lot.

I really cant praise this game enough I find something new everytime I play this and im playing through a second time. There is a lot to do here some would say too much but it certainly offers variety very much like Oblivion but much much more. The combat system is improved when compared to Oblivion which at this point I think is nearly 7 years old. It has a thing called "radiant quests" I think this means that based on your actions and the skill you will have different quests open up. I cant say anything that will give any more away its just the biggest game I have played and still playing you might need to book off a month from work just to crack the surface. Certainly with the DLC which isnt included in this edition but I imagine for those of us who dont play online a Game of the Year version wont be too far away...there will be much more added. So expect creatures on a large scale, massive dragons to slay and special armors to create.

This game is immense ,from the customisation of your character ,the way you level up (your character and skills) to the sheer size of the map ,there are loads of animals that roam around the lush wilderness (to the left of where you meet the Greybeards there is a stunning river of jaw dropping splendor) The best bits are , when you deliver a finishing blow to an opponent ,an animation takes over which not only let,s you know that you have beaten your foe, but it shows you do in such a stylish way ( my best one was when I cleared a Forsworn camp ,and with the first shot from my bow, I took out a gaurd on a bridge and watched him fall in to the river below ) This rivals, even surpasses Red Dead for the attention on the smallest of detail taken in to consideration,It's my new favorite game ! I was standing in the middle of a forrest ,I could hear the running water in a nearby river, birds were singing ,insects humming and chirping,I could hear a bear growling in the distance while he was being attacked by a dragon . . . even when you are motionless ,the world goes on around you

  The Nords

This game is a classic for the xbox 360! (right lets get something sorted im noticing that alot of pc gamers waffling my computer better than your graphics of course the xbox 360 does not have the power of the pc but what looks a bit dated on this game is the same on a pc so the waffling is confounded)

The game settles around mountain folk called the nords who live and have build cities, villages and towns thats right all in it! Plus the design of the houses and cities and clothing and weapons is astounding for detail on a console! The forests are a bit special fancy going deer hunting to improve you archery i dare you,or treasure hunting in caves to get rich but your block and swordmanship will improve there LOL! Just a very detailed game for a console and such a pleasure to play and the voice acting spot on,previous games have been a bit of the odd side to say the least, the composing music is excellent the opening song just listen to it and enjoy! The gameplay has improved a bit from oblivion but not much, love the cut scenes when you do a special kill worth the purchase! Game is proably about 200hrs of life LOL so be warned be carful how you spend it,lastly the online downloads is needed as such a huge game comes with bugs, graphic problems etc! The latest patch has fixed all so recommend you just download if xbox live,so now just sit back and play a trully stunnig adventure game!

this consumed my summer holiday and made it amazing! nothing i love more than sneaking around vampires, bears, sabertooths, giants, people, mages and creatures with my bow with a bit of poison on the arrow and sneak attacking them from far out and clearing the caves, dwarven mines and settlements out! you never know what you are going to find and there are so many side quests with cool stories to them that grip you! Although the loading screens are quite annoying with how long they take but its worth it with the gameplay you recieve!

  Fantastic Game!

Its hard to write a review about a game as indepth as Skyrim. I suspect for some people it may be a game that grows on them, whilst others will be more familuar with the series. If you are new to the Edler Scrolls world I hope you give this the time it needs to get into it. Personally I love the side quests as much as the main story. Thats the beauty of this game, although it may seem neverending, you can dip in and out of quests. Strongly recommended!

Bought this for 20 quid and been playing it for 135 hours and that in my opinion is value for money. The game grabbed me instantly with the character customization and then the stunning visuals. Loved how you rained your character up with the perks system and the dual wielding with one hand magic and the other a sword is fantastic. A must buy for anyone
