DiRT 3 will boast more cars, more locations, more routes and more events than any other game in the series, including over 50 rally cars representing the very best from five decades of the sport. With more than double the track content of 2009's hit, DiRT 3 will see players start at the top as a professional driver, with a top-flight career in competitive off-road racing complimented by the opportunity to express themselves in Gymkhana-style showpiece driving events.

As players race to elevate their global standing, DiRT 3 delivers mud, sweat and gears world over: from the intense weather-beaten rally stages of Europe, Africa and the US, to executing performance driving showcases and career challenges where car control is pushed to spectacular limits.

Not quite as good as it could have been...

There can be no doubt that this is a beautifully made game, the graphics are superb, probably the best I've ever seen, and the sound is excellent. The main problem with dirt 2 was, I felt, the lack of rally an the lack of cars, this has been amended in dirt 3 with 60% of career made up of rally. There is also a much wider variety of cars than in either Dirt 1 or 2. Another great addition is the lighting changes, night races are truley outstanding and provide a great challenge. unfortunately it's not all great news, the rally stages are mostly ridiculously short (around 1-2 minutes) and ludicrously wide, theres none of the on the edge excitement that you got from Dirt 1 where you knew that going just a little bit too fast could throw you off the course. All in all then a very good, and very well made game but one that leaves you just slightly disappointed. 7/10

Brilliant game, highly recommend this to anyone who likes any type of racing game. I own dirt 1 and dirt 2, but this is the best for me, rally can be little easy but turn off all the assists and it becomes a lot harder. Online is truly brilliant as well, there is so much to do. Plus the new gymkhana events are great fun, and break thee game up nicely. Ps get a steering wheel best game for it I've played.

Make no mistake this is a great game. The visuals, sound and presentation are world class. But as alwasy's from codemasters it does leave you slightly disappointed. The handling of the cars is a vast improvement over previous games in the series, however still not quite there yet, no matter what surface your on the car feels the same. My main gripe is the tracks themselves, i mean this is rally right? so how come there isnt a single rock or boulder on the track or in any ditchs? no potholes? not so much as a leaf or twig.... The tracks are pretty boring and far to short and i may be wrong but is there about 4 tracks in total that get repeated or reversed? only in the latter stages of the game does it get a little more exciting, but only just. Apart from the tracks it is a good game that could of been great. Still its definatly progress and im sure codemasters will nail it before long.

Bought this game as I loved the original Colin Mcrae games on PS2. Played it and tried to like it but dont like the handling, or gymkhana. I say tray and hire it as I am trading mine in.
