  Great!!...but repetitive

I'm a big fan of the first prototype game and had an amazing amount of joyment out of it, however it did end up very repetitive and i stopped playing it, with the occassional time should i get bored of the other games i own. So I was hoping they would learn of this mistake for this game...it didnt.

Yes Prototype 2 has a wide range of new enemies, the abilities are limited this time round and the gameplay is just as repetitive as the last game. But it still is enjoyable, limit the amount you play it or otherwise you'll beat the game quickly, you'll lose your enthusiasm for the game and you'll just completely give up on playing it.

I got the game primarily out of the fact that you had to beat the vigilante from the first game Alex Mercer, but even when there was a climax to the ending mission it just didnt feel like there was anything there to ignite my spark for excitement or to ignite the grudge between the two lead characters. Also the last mission is the only real test of the game, the other missions were far to easy for my liking, and then this final fight seemed to upgrade in difficulty.

The makers of Prototype should have learnt a lesson from the makers of Assassins creed and there evolvement of assassins creed 2, it wasnt repetitive, had a great story, and most of all it was enjoyable throughout the entire of the game.

This game still beats infamous anyday, but the makers need to improve on the third game (fingers crossed) because there is too much repetitivity within the two games.

Verdict:
Prototype 2 has a great premise ready for the third game, however it did not learn from mistakes. The game is reasonably enjoyable, has enough of a storyline, great gameplay and controls.

Prototype: 7/10
Prototype 2: 7/10

I suggest you stick with the first prototype as you gain more out of it, but thats just a suggestion. Or at least wait until the price for the game drops because it really isn't worth 24.99.

Very good game very good story only three things I found that let it down a bit. 1-the voice of Alex mercer (the guy you play as in e original) is not the same voice from the first game. The sonar hunt system can be confusing at times And James heller (main character) is very slow to start off with and this can become annoying at first. Apart from these 3 small issues the game is very well thought out and very modern, still stays true to the original. All in all a must buy if you've played the first one.

Brilliant! I can't stop playing this game, good story with superb power upgrades and ability to cause mayhem! The Radnet thingy really adds something new every few days and the desire to try again for a Gold award is compelling. I can' keep off it...buy it now!

  Fun but for how long!!!!!

I was thrilled when I heard Activision where releasing prototype 2 and with the trailer looking as awesome as the soundtrack I was Evan more buzzing for the release date Ive been playing prototype 2 for a few days now so ill try and sum up a few key points The storyline What I no so far anyway those of you who played prototype 1 will no the basics The character Alex mercer who gets infected with some sort of virus and then is on a hunt to find his girlfriend bla bla bla. Well not to give away too much prototype 2 starts with the new main character James Heller being infected my Alex mercer to show him the truth off black watch so you can both hunt them down and show everyone the truth of the plague and clear your names This presents the main objective off the game The gameplay once again is a sandbox game with the freedom to jump glide and run across a large variety of 3 different islands If your like me and find the simple things in life amusing then you will spend a lot of your first few hours on this game running up walls and jumping off tall buildings Its awesome The fighting has improved since the last game with a whole load of new weapons and upgrades at your disposal and all very simple to use with a very good tutorial on how to use each power/weapon The only negative I have so far is that I worry it might get a tad repetitive as the side quests seem not to change and most of the ways to get the upgrades is through these mini missions I also find the new sneak attack system can get very irritating when you have to sneak attack a large group But like I said I have only played this game a few days now and there is still so much more to do and unlock.
